I've been asked about camping in a tent at The Nook for the last night of Wroot Rocks. The ground has dried out a lot so as long as you have toilet facilities and you are happy to take a chance that we have no serious rain or gales on Saturday night get in touch and I will try to find you a dry(ish) sheltered spot.

As you can see this was last year when we had a lot of rain. Fortunately it is not as bad this year.

I thought I should give the Wroot Rocks campers an update on the situation at The Nook. Because the ground is so waterlogged (still)I have limited camping for campervans or motorhomes, there is nowhere suitable for a tent.
I am having to keep vehicles off the grass to avoid them getting stuck and causing ruts that would make it difficult for caravanners when I reopen in the Spring.
There are 6 booked in for 15 January and I am reluctant to take any more bookings.
As the roadway is overgrown I have marked it out so people can see where to park to avoid getting stuck.

I have had a number of requests from Wroot Rockers for camping at The Nook for the Xmas party. I don't want to be a killjoy but the ground is very wet and boggy and there is more rain forecast. There is only limited space on the hardstanding/roadway so if you want to stay please bring traction mats or similar to ensure you can get off unassisted. I don't have a vehicle suitable to tow anyone out who gets stuck.

Looking forward to welcoming Wroot Rockers at The Nook again in November.

Unfortunately there will be no toilet facilities.

The composting loo is still not plumbed in and there has been a bit of a misunderstanding on how it should be used resulting in a mishap that needs sorting out before it can be opened up again.

Just to let you know the best way to get in touch is by fb messenger to The Nook, to my personal fb messages or by email Carolyn. [email protected]. I work part time from home so I can't always get to the phone if you ring.

A message for Wroot Rockers some guests for Wroot Rocks have arrived early so the gate is unlocked. Come on in and find yourself somewhere to pitch up and make yourselves at home.
Sadly the compost loo is not ready for use yet but I have left a plastic bucket and chuckit loo for those without facilities to use.
