Update 5: my last update on my family adventure in Florida. Naples, Everglades, Key West, Miami and Titusville (Space Centre). My last week was my favourite, beach, sun, wildlife … it was amazing!
It was still busy (specially for my husband driving around in the RV) our first stop after visiting Bush Gardens was Naples, we didn’t really see much as we arrived to our RV parking place at around 11 pm and in by the morning we just drove straight to the Everglades to see aligators in the wild . It was very interesting, the airboat experience was cool. I manage to see a couple, but the best part was the talked about them afterwards, we saw them up closed and learned a lot. Afterward we headed to Key West, our next RV stop, the drive down the keys was amazing and we manage to stopped in a few island to enjoy the view and the beaches which are warm water with no waves. It was like been in a pool. The only issue is that the beaches got some seaweed which it can be uncomfortable to walk near to the sea, it was only an small stretch, you can still bring your towel or chairs and lie down in nice soft sand. We also stopped at Blue Hole at Big Key Pine which is a really nice place to look out for alligator and tortoises, we were lucky enough to see Deers in the wild. The whole place is natural reserve . To get into the beaches , there was a $10 fee for all 5 of us and you can spend there until closing time, definitely worth it .

On Key West, we enjoy a lovely key lime pie (highly recommended!) and we were lucky to joined a tour to swim in the 3rd biggest coral reef in the world 1hr away from key West . Absolutely amazing. We all enjoyed it and it’s for all ages . Saw lots of fishes and had a great time exploring the reef carefully .

After that we drove to Miami, what a brilliant city, lots to see and do but mainly, a great place to enjoy the beaches. Miami Beach was great, clean, warm clear water, we end up the day at the Hark rock Casino and Hotel, also worth seeing that, the actual hotel is impressive (shape of a guitar) the strings are powerful lights pointing to the sky that are visible from various places in the Hollywood area of Miami at night. Definitely a place to consider, specially if you want to relax . Our last stops was Titusville, a proper old American town near the Space Centre.
We went to the Space Centre next, I really enjoyed it. Comparing it with Disney or Universal is very unfair because they are so different. It a lot smaller but still lots to see, do and learn. Nasa is currently trying to get space exploration up there again and with more private investment (Space X) this looks like is going foward. We manage to see a launch of a satellite into space the day we were flying back home, again just luck that it was happening that day. The space centre has always been a dream for me to go and see . A tick off the list!

Top tip: if you are thinking on renting an RV, you will need to book an RV camp parking. Stel camping is illegal in Florida, also is too hot , you will need your hook ups to get the air-con working in your RV, also these camp places are nice and clean. Best place to book is directly with KOA camping.

Update 4: Aquatica & Bush Gardens. After visiting Disney and Universal (including their respective water parks: Typhoon Lagoon at Disney and Volcano Bay at Universal) Aquatica is not as impressive. Don’t get me wrong, still super fun, way more to do than you’re average water park, great family slides to do (including one that goes through a dolphin tank) and good kiddies only slides, always good when as a parent, you just want to relax and enjoy your drink! The main issue with Aquatica we noticed is mainly the lack of staff helping to get through the queues quicker. Also, while in Aquatica, we had the only bad weather, causing rides to shut down every once in a while, which probably didn’t really help. Still, if you have the time or if your tickets include the entry to the park, go and experience it yourself.

Bush Gardens was our last stop of park visiting. We were absolutely tired after almost 2 weeks of walking and queuing, but we gave it a go and it was good. Most of the biggest and fastest rides in the Florida are in Busch Gardens, so if you are looking for some adrenaline, this should be a stop for you. What I founded very insteresting and I wasn’t expecting to see is that, Busch Gardens is also a big Zoo. Most of the animals are in massive enclosures and you can see them right in front of you. They have various talks about the animals at certain time of the day, in which they use this as an opportunity to get the animals to do some exercise. The most impressive ones personally, was the cheetah run and the hippo feeding. I think if you are travelling with a person that loves animals and adrenaline, then this is a must do. Once again, same as Sea World, animals are very well looked after.
Don’t dismiss these 2 parks, it is still worth the visit, and don’t forget if you add the meal plans on your tickets, this will save you a lots of ££ in the long run.

Update 3: Universal Studios

What can I say.. Brilliant!

Universal Studios caters for all ages from the young ones at Universal’s Island of Adventure with a few favourite rides my kids enjoyed like Cat in the Hat and many others to the Marvel Comics were all building are decorated with Comic like sketch and very colourful. A must do ride definitely would be The Amazing adventures of Spider-Man and the Hulk rollercoaster.

But the créme of the créme was definitely the Harry Potter World area. It definitely transports you to a land of magic, everything is just fabulous and done to the last detail. You can even practice your magic after you purchase a wand from Ollivander’s wand shop ($64 + tax). The wand comes with a map which it shows you the exact places where you can practice your magic.
You can travel between Universal Studios and Island of Adventure by taking the Hogwarts Express and explore more of these worlds and all the rides are definitely a must do!

One thing that Universal does better than Disney are there queues. They can be very long however, from the moment you step into them you will know what the ride is about and what your “mission” would be . There are exclusive clips done for each ride so you can get into it. If a fast track pass is not within your budget , then don’t worry , you will definitely enjoy the queues at this park, and be clever with the times. Definitely download the app and plan your day that way.

I can write a lot more as I seen and done so many things at Universal. It is a MUST if you are planing your next trip to Orlando.

2nd update: Sea World - Now that we managed to do all Disney parks last week (even with a 2nd entrance and going back for our favourite rides) yesterday was Sea World. I was expecting a very kiddy friendly park, however it has got a lot more thrilling rides than Disney. Basically it caters for all ages.

I’m not a massive fan of the big rides but my other half and my eldest daughter manage to complete them all! It’s not only a marine zoo, it’s also the rollercoaster capital of Orlando!

A must do at Sea World are the fireworks at the end of the day. They are amazing! Disney fireworks were also amazing but this is definitely one to not miss!

The shows offered around the park are also brilliant with the killer wales, sea lions and dolphins. You need to remember this a rescue Center for recovering animals , and they are return to the wild , but some of them have been born and raise at Center therefore, they don’t know anything other than that. They are well looked after and cared for.

My little ones enjoyed the Sesame Street land, they didn’t really understand much of concept as it’s not a big deal in the UK. There are lots of kiddie rides which they can go on on their on if they are over 42inch and a mini water park if they want to cool down.

Overall, I will recommend visiting this park, some people will dismiss it , but there is lots to see and do, guaranteed fun for all ages.

Top tip: if you can, purchase the tickets with all day dining included, do it. In the long run it will save you lots of money and you can get as much food and drinks as you want every 90 minutes !

1st week in the Magic Kingdom done ! 4 parks , over 45 thousand steps done in the last week and a million of photos and experiences!

All 4 parks are amazing, very unique in their own way but by far my favourites was Animal Kingdom and Epcot follow by Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom.

I just can’t believe how massive this place is, definitely renting a car can help but Ubers are always great and definitely great customer service throughout. You are expected to pay between $25-$30 + tips (I’m staying around Kissimmee drive) Regarding renting a car, you need to remember than parking at the parks can cost around $25 per day and depending on the size of the car can cost more . Staying in one of the Disney hotels this comes included in the price. To travel around the parks, there is the monorail, skylines, busses and boats. All very handy to park hoop after 2pm, although with busses, they seem to all go via Disney Springs, which is a massive shopping centre full of restaurants, designer shops, etc, very tempting to spend a bit more $$$!

Queues were long for some of the most popular rides like Tron at Magic Kingdom, Avatar both rides at Animal Kingdom, Rock and Rollercoaster and Star Wars at Hollywood Studios and Frozen forever along with Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot were the longest we experience, however the lightning lane passes are $25 per person/per day which it will definitely help with waiting times and you can smash through all rides in 1 day, although I had to say, the waiting experience in some of the rides are pretty amazing specially on the avatar and Star Wars rides.

I was impressed by Animal Kingdom as we had one of the best safari experience, better than a safari park in the UK. Definitely worth doing this and my kiddies learned so much. They also do a passport badge for children to collect around the park and on every stop there was always someone explaining what the badge was and learning a bunch of facts about it. With Epcot , I found it very much for grown ups, there is a massive walk within various countries and they all got a bars and selling their signature drinks .. you can end up very drunk by the time you get to the last country (specially if you finish in Mexico, get ready for some tequila !)

I can put so much information here but if you want more specifics and are going or thinking on going to Disney World, feel free to drop me a message ! Happy to help and organise this for you .
