South Somerset Heritage Collection is delighted to be participating in this year’s Festival of Archaeology 16th – 31st July 2022 , celebrating the theme of ‘Journeys'
Enjoy this short reel showcasing some of the collection’s highlights including Samian ware that you can now see on display in Yeovil Library in the collection's display cabinet.
You'll also see replica bronze age axe heads and even a replica Roman hygiene kit! The display will also feature a model of a hypocaust, a Roman heating system and an exercise book from Yeovil School History Master, Leonard Hayward, which he used to document excavations at Lufton Roman Villa between 1946 and 1952.
