Yes, that’s right, we have a room just for your wedding cake. Our “Cake Room” is a beautiful room to show off the most expensive cake you will (probably!) ever purchase 🍰

Wedding cakes have been present at weddings for centuries. They were not always the focus though and often came in different forms, like pies or bread.

Whether you opt for a show stopping cake or go for something more simple - make sure to use the beautiful Cake Room!

Brympton has a choice of beautiful indoor ceremony spaces, including the 13th century on site Church, St Andrews, and the stunning medieval Chapel, Castle House, meaning that the outdoor spots often get overlooked.

However, there are plenty of outside spaces which may be the right space for your ceremony. The South Lawn is a great location as it benefits from views of the South front of the house and has the lake to the other side!

Whilst the house gets a lot of attention, the gardens are just as impressive! Brympton is set amongst 33 acres of Grade 2* listed gardens which encompasses an apple & pear orchard, a walled garden, croquet pitch, a Japanese garden and tennis court!

One of our favourite photographers, , has beautifully captured some of the gardens and we are so excited now it is starting to get a little warmer and the gardens are coming back to life!

T H E S A L O N

The expansion of the original d’Evercy house occurred in 1460 when the Sydenham family added the south wing of the manor.

The south wing would have held the house’s first reception rooms, including the Salon. The Salon would have been one of the family’s drawing rooms, for hosting and relaxing in.

Until then, the whole household would have lived and dined together in the Great hall.

The Salon is always a popular choice for the wedding breakfast. Overlooking the South Terrace and lake, whilst also including an open fire, it is the perfect year round spot for formal dining.

What a beautiful start to December we have had! Although the temperatures outside have quickly dropped, we have been lucky to have the most incredible sunny days - perfect for confetti shots and outdoor photos.

The West Front is a great spot for drinks if you want to enjoy the last of the sun, and it can give your guests wonderful sunset views 🌅

The expansion of the house happened in 1460. Up until then, the whole household would have lived and dined together in the 1450 Great hall!

The impressive Great Hall has two large mullioned double-height windows meaning it is the most wonderfully light space all year round.

The magnificent Great Hall is a gorgeous spot for a Winter Drinks Reception or a welcoming space for guests 🥂🍾

We love starting to see the gardens and landscape change on the estate as we enter Autumn 🍂

Castle House is one of the oldest buildings on the estate and dates back to 1350.

It is one of our beautiful indoor ceremony spaces and with an elegant long aisle, leading up to a beautiful arched mullion window, it feels pretty like a church!

It provides a perfect ceremony space throughout the year.

Double doors at the rear of the building lead onto the South Terrace – a wonderful spot to host your drinks reception (weather permitting)

One of Somerset’s most historic houses, Brympton House, has been described as ‘the most beautiful house in England’.

Built slowly over hundreds of years and then refurbished and renovated for every century after, Brympton House has evolved slowly and constantly, resulting in a sprawling Grade I listed mansion and estate featuring numerous architectural styles.

Brympton was the backdrop for adaptation of Persuasion, which was filmed in various indoor and outdoor locations across the estate. Let us know which areas you have recognised!
