A very icy crisp day here even the dog decided that the floor was too cold underfoot as we set about some essential winter tasks around the gardens! We hope everyone is managing to keep warm during this cold snap! Our first new guests of 2025 are certainly going to welcome the warmth of the cottage when they return from their days sightseeing today.

⭐ COLOUR & LIGHT 2025 ⭐

York BID can now reveal that Colour & Light will return to York Minster next month!

Every night, from 12th February to 2nd March 2025, the iconic South Transept of York Minster will be transformed with mesmerising projections celebrating York’s wildlife and heritage, from the Peregrine Falcons that call the Minster home, to the horses that the Roman’s rode into Eboracum on.

From 6-9pm, the captivating projection will run on a 10-minute loop, with the final hour each evening featuring a designated quiet hour with reduced noise and crowd levels, ensuring everyone can enjoy the event.

Colour & Light 2025 is proudly funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

It’s perfect for all the family, and we’re thrilled to be able to make this a completely free event with no tickets required.
