The Tannery Ghost; heralding a new classification of Ghosts, which have been in development for many years. The Ghost pictured are from our 2021 Pioneer Batch / Recipe .
We espouse traditional values; Ghosts are always made by hand and the methods of making ensure that each Ghost is a true original. The Tannery Ghosts are the epitome of these values, each one is a product of alchemy, expertise & patience.
With knowledge handed down from makers of the past we have adopted methods which use natural processes & ingredients to produce Ghosts characterised by their beguiling patina and very particular palette of raw colours. We spent many hours experimenting & developing old recipes and dyeing techniques in the early months of 2021,continuing into 2023. There are approx. 60 Ghosts from this period of research & development ( Pioneer Batches P01 & P02 ).
Tannery Ghosts have the recipe No., batch No., manufacture date, a merchant signatory & stamp on the box.
We will sell the first batches of production Tannery Ghosts in the New Year. Full preview and launch details will be announced in due course.
“I have been spending the evenings in the companie of the delightful Herron & Wallis, in the dim lightes of their hidden workshop. Every evening when I knock upon the door, there seems to be different rituals in the art of alchemy occurring - some bringe me a Sort of Distress, such as the poisonous plantes they claim will not harm when cook’d a certain way - some are quite beautiful, such as the dying of delicate fabricks with cherry-bark, and the wrapping of ghosts with the scraps.
The two men told us how the alchemic arts is simply the metamorphosis of one element into the other. - with time, and the right attention&care, simple ingredients form something to last through time
