Grand Etang Forest Reserves located in the high central forest range approximately 800m ASL is typically rainforest. Species diversity is not as high there. Levera Area, located furthest North Eastern Atlantic coast of the island is typical dry forest ecosystem, but the main attractions for birds are the wetlands. Large water body, levera pond and Lake Antoine are noted for migratory Ducks, waders and Seabirds. Seabirds colonies can be found the small rocks and islets’ just off the coast from Levera e.g. Diamond Rock etc.

Perseverance Dove Sanctuary located on the Western Caribbean coast is the second habitat for the two populations of the Grenada Dove. The difference in topography and microclimatic conditions makes it suitable for more birds e.g. lesser Antillean Tanager, Grenada -Flycatcher, Hummers etc.

Did you Know - Mt. Hartman National Park and Dove Sanctuary located on the South Eastern Atlantic coast is a xeric dry-forest ecosystem and one of the two habitats for the endemic and endangered Grenada Dove and Hooked-billed kite. This forest ecosystem is dominated by acacia species and is characterized by its thorny nature. Mangrove wetlands in the area are also habitat for herons and waders etc.
