The Grenada Tourism Authority is the National Tourism Organisation of Grenada that manages and markets the destination. The day to day operations include product development, quality standardisation and certification, research, planning, and marketing. Tourism Awareness Edutainment at Tri Island Chocolate Factory!
The Department of Tourism in the Ministry of Economic Development, Planning, ICT and the Creative Economy recently hosted a tourism awareness activity with primary school students from District Five.
A total of 20 Grade 5 students from Constantine Methodist, St. George’s Methodist, Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic, Mt. Moritz Anglican & Nativity Catholic schools had a spice and chocolate experience at Tri Island Chocolate Factory at the Spice Basket in Beaulieu, St. George.
There, the students toured the spice garden and learned all about chocolate - from tree to bar.
This Tourism Awareness activity was implemented through collaboration with of the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, principals and staff of the participating schools, and staff of the Department of Tourism, including assistance from an Intern from TAMCC, and Tri Island Chocolate Company.
This week, spice and souvenir entrepreneurs from Melville Street (Zone 2) are participating in a training workshop organised by our Quality Assurance department.
The focus of the training is on five (5) key areas: Merchandising, Spice Packaging and Labelling, Business Management, Fostering positive stakeholder relationships, and Self Awareness.
Changing the way we do things for maximum impact is one of the themes of our Pure Grenada Excellence Champion training programme.
