Guest house Jalabauri - it's a cozy, family-run hotel, located in the tower of the ancient fortress Shatili. House-fortress is a 4-storey building: in the ground floor there is a spacious living room with fireplace, on the other floors there are separate comfort bedrooms. On the 3rd floorthere is an outdoor balcony with a beautiful view of the river Argun. Both outside and inside space save an authentic atmosphere of furniture Khevsurian home. Our guest house can comfortably take 17 people at the same time. There are all amenities: three toilets, three showers with hot and cold water. We also offer: food - homemade Georgian cuisine (includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (at your option); excursions and trips to nearby areas; horse tours for groups and idividuals (preliminary booking required) transfer Tbilisi - Shatili | Shatili - Tbilisi. Дом-крепость представляет собой 4-х этажное строение: на первом этаже расположена просторная гостиная с камином, на остальных этажах находятся отдельные спальные комнаты. На 3-м этаже есть открытый балкон с прекрасным видом на реку Аргун. Как снаружи, так и внутри сохранена аутентичная атмосфера убранства хевсурского дома. Он является уникальным памятником древней архитектуры. Выстроенное на скале селение, служило людям, как домом, так и крепостью. Особенностью строения является то, что башни соединены друг с другом так, что находясь внутри можно передвигаться по местности не выходя за пределы защитного строения. Поэтому, на протяжении веков, крепость оставалась неприступной и служила оплотом защиты северной границы Грузии. It is located on the northern slope of the Greater Caucasus mountains, in the historical Georgian province of Upper Khevsureti, which is now part of the modern-day region (mkhare) of Mtskheta-Mtianeti. Located in the deep Arghuni gorge at approximately 1,400 meters, the village is actually a unique complex of medieval-to-early modern fortresses and fortified dwellings of stone and mortar, which functioned both as a residential area and as a fortress guarding the north-eastern outskirts of the country. The fortress consists of the terraced structures dominated by flat-roofed dwellings and some 60 towers which cluster together to create a single chain of fortifications. Unique architectural methods and thought are realised in Shatili: selection of location, development of the land with complicated relief, rational land tenure, multifunctionalism, vertical zoning of construction, optimal orientation.
