⛪️🌄Nekresi is a historical town in Kakheti, in the Kvareli municipality in Georgia. It was founded by 👑King Farnajom (II-I centuries BC). In the 4th century, the Iberian 🤴king Thrdat built a church here.
At January 7 (Orthodox Christmas), a pig is sacrificed to the monastery along with other animals. According to the legend, the enemy surrounded Nekresi. People killed pigs and rolled the heads of dead pigs in the direction of the enemy. The enemy was afraid and did not attack Nekresi anymore. Academician L. Chilashvili connects the pig sacrifice ritual with the worship of Mithras, the Iranian god, the main act of which is the sacrifice of a pig. The Christmas of Christ and Mithras is the same date, it starts at night and ends in the morning.

Gergeti Trinity ⛪️- architectural complex is located in Kazbegi Municipality in Georgia, at 2200 🌄meters above sea level. The date of construction of the church is unknown, it must have been built in XIV century.Construction stone was brought two kilometers away from the village of Ghechi
