In the Alazani Valley еруку is a remarkable place - Tsinandali.
This is the place where the ancient race of princes Chavchavadze once lived.
Tsinandali palace was built in the 19th century and it served as a gathering place for the entire cultural elite of Georgia – such as poets, musicians, artists and thinkers. It was like the center of social life.
Alexander Chavchavadze was a famous Georgian poet and thinker who has done much for the development and education of Georgia.
It was in the estate of Chavchavadze where Alexander Griboyedov met and fell in love with no memory in his future wife, Nina Chavchavadze.
On the estate the museum is operated, where many interesting exhibits are represented.
Winemaking was developed in Georgia, since ancient times, but the first plant for the production of wine was established just in Tsinandali.
A wonderful park is stretched around the museum.
Today there a tasting room is opened where you can get acquainted with the best samples of Georgian wine.

Rabat fortress consists of two parts - the upper fortress is located on a high cliff, and the citadel, is a rock, which is surrounded with a stone wall.
Rabat fortress was founded in 1114 by Ahmed Pasha - a representative of the Georgian noble familly Jakeli that during the reign of the Ottoman Empire had converted to Islam.
Hagia Sophia served to the model construction of the fortress as in Constantinople.
Inside the fortress there was a house of Pasha, mosque, madrasa and all the necessities for the life of people living at that time in this place. After the restoration there were formed the optimal conditions for tourists visiting the castle Rabat.
Today in the fortress there are the Orthodox church, a mosque, a synagogue, museum and park there.

In the south of Georgia Samtskhe - Javakheti is the Vardzia cave monastery complex, which is an outstanding example of the Georgian architecture of the Middle Ages.
This is a very interesting place, which arose around the 12th century and is an important part of the history of the Georgian state.
The whole complex of Vardzia in length takes about a kilometer. In fact, this city - the fortress, located in the mountain, where there are about 600 caves, which served at the time the cells and living quarters. The underground part of this unique complex is about 50 meters above the ground and there are eight floors.
City – Fortress Vardzia is one of the most popular and interesting place in Georgia.

Tour to Ikalto

Near the town of Telavi there is the village of Ikalto of the same monastery complex. In Kakheti it is the oldest one. Of course to this day it has not been preserved in its original form, given the invasion and war and various natural disasters. Churches belonging to the monastery complex Ikalto were built in the 8th century.
In the 12th century King David the Builder completed the Assumption Church and the Academy building, where at the time the great Georgian poet S***a Rustaveli the author of the immortal works of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" studied there.
Inside the complex Ikalto there is a temple of the Holy Spirit, on the right side of the altar lie the remains of the founder of the Georgian monasticism Zenon Ikaltoeli.
Next to the temple of the Holy Spirit there is the Holy Trinity church, around which excavations are carried out to this days.
A small church of the Assumption of the Virgin is A more recent construction there.
Now the monastery Ikalto represents the remains of buildings of the different periods.

In the south - west of Georgia there is a city - resort of Borjomi.
The town fairly well known outside of Georgia due to its mineral water.
Mineral springs in Borjomi were found thousands years ago, and the constant research of this unique water shows that its composition is not changed.
Borjomi is conveniently located in the Borjomi Gorge, at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level. Beautiful nature of this region no one leaves indifferent.
Borjomi is a small town, however, there are many things to admire.
City Park, which stretches along the river gorges, waterfalls, next to which stands a monument to Prometheus, the cable car that lifts the top of wanting to Borjomi Plateau, offering an indescridable view.
Also in Borjomi trere are many monuments and museums.
One of the symbols of the city is the house of Mirza - Riza Khan. It is an architectural monument of the 19th century.
In Borjomi there is reserve where you can get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the region.

Tour to Gori

Gori is one of the ancient towns of Georgia. Its name derives from the hill (“goraki” in Georgian) in the center of the town, there is on the Gori Fortress.
Archaeological data indicate that on the territory of Gori, there were urban-type settlement of the Early Bronze Age (approximately 3000 BC) and in the end of the I millennium BC, in place of the Gori Fortress, there was a powerful fortress. In 65 BC the Roman general Pompey surrounded the fortress which had a strategic importance, the capturing thereof meant the political domination over the whole Shida Kartli. During its history the fortress was reconstructed many times. The main part of the modern fortress was built in the XVII century. In manuscripts the town of Gori has been mentioned from the VII century. As Gori was situated on the strategic and trade routes, the king David IV strengthened it in 1123, he settled down merchants and craftsmen, thus made it one of the most important cities of Georgia.
Gori is famous as a place where Joseph Stalin was born.

Tourto Bodbe

Near the town of Sighnaghi there is Ortodox Bodbe Monastery.
This monastery is very famous as it houses the tomb of St. Nino a very revered in Georgia.
Inside the monastery there is the Cathedral of St. George, which occupies the central altar of the Cathedral.
Bodbe monastery is the center of the local diocese.
Inspite of the fact that the Bodbe monastery was repeatedly destroyed, in 1888 it was rebuilt, renovated and transformed into one of the main monasteries in Kakheti.
A special attraction of this place is the source of Saint Nino, where crowds of tourists come to see constantly to drink cold spring water.

Jinvali

Zhinvali, also Jinvali, is an artificial water reservoir located on the river Aragvi in Georgia. The building of the hydroelectric dam formed the Zhinvali Reservoir. The dam has been built in 1986.
Here is a small watching platform when approaching from Tbilisi - a perfect place for a group photo or as I prefer - landscape photography.

Tour to Gremi

In the historic district of Kakheti there is an architectural monument of the 16th century - the royal castle Gremi.
This is magnificent monastery, near which once eponymous city was located which was the capital of Kakheti. It was a rich city with a developed trade.
Trough the Gremi passed the Great Silk Road.
But in the 17th century the town was virtually destroyed by invaders.
Because of the inability to recover the blossoming of the city, the capital of Kakheti was moved to Telavi.
Today we can see only ruins and it is difficult to imagine that there were shopping arcade, bathes, running water in this place .
In the stone Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, you can see the half-erased frescoes of the time, the grave of Levan Kakheti, the gun of the 16th century and so on.
The royal palace was restored and now there is a museum there.
Inspite of the fact that the opening our eyes today the picture is far from the original, the whole complex, thanks to the painstaking work of archaeologists and restorers leaves a lasting impression and is one of the most visited places in Georgia.
