The last bits of harvesting fruit from our "granny apple tree".🍏🤶🌳Not exactly the same age as me, but not much younger either :-)
Despite its age, it still keeps giving us surprisingly big amount of fruit and has a breathtaking blooming during the Springs. Most of the apples, we used for making a vinegar, hence we consume it a lot in salads and other dishes. Left some on the tree. Will pick up and gather gradually for baking apple pies & cakes. 🥧🍏🥮
God, if only cakes were not the calorie bombs...🧘‍♀️

Yesterday, on 21.08.2024 me & my hubby - my soulmate and the huge love of mine, celebrated 4 beautiful years of our marriage life. 💚

Our first marriage kiss happened through the face-masks on 21.08.2020 with only two friends of ours attending the ceremony under the strict COVID restrictions. 😅

Having no expectations of any visitors to come in the evening, our dear friend, neighbor and a lifelong fisherman decided to surprise us nicely with the special anniversary gift. 🐠 🐟 🎣 Brought us some nice fish.
Was such a simple but lovely and nice evening, enjoyed so much and had such a fun. 😊

Appreciate the little things and simplicity in life! 🙏

More I spend time in the city (visiting the family & friends) more I wonder, how could I live whole my live in that chaotic, noisy, polluted urban environment? How blessed I am while being in my garden, among the greenness and veggies, observing and learning, experimenting and analyzing. How proud I am walking from the garden to the kitchen, harvesting a basket of sorts of veggies to show to my husband, to share the happiness of success together and tell him how thankful I am for all his "green knowledge" that he lavishly keeps sharing during these 4 years of settlement of our farm-life. This is the spirit and the true mean of life!

Our kind contribution and some of the footage of successful turn of the story ➡️ knowledge sharing➡️ learn by doing ➡️workshop supported by us for our beloved community members. Practicing how to grow Oyster mushrooms on the logs and strawbales early in March. Harvesting from the strawbales was happening in early May. Full harvest footage to be gathered, sorted out and uploaded when I have more time 😁 So happy to see that the interest among the community members towards the mushroom growing tools is slowly, slowly progressing 🍄🪵🌿

Our neighbors, the fishermen often bring us fish from the local river and lake to release and spread in our pond. During 3 years since we dug the pond and made first steps in aquaculture (that we incorporate in our permaculture approaches and use nicely for watering the plants during the hot, dry days) amount of fish contributed by the neighbors and breaded naturally in the pond keeps raising sustainably, responding positively on our expectations and goals. 🐠 🐟 🐠

“Nikvi’s Communa”

"Nikvi's Communa" is a community based unity of rural women and youth, using local potential and resources to cultivate and gather sorts of mushrooms and agricultural products in Kursebi village, west Georgia; mainly the community is focused on Amanita Caesarea commonly known as Caesar's Mushroom, highly regarded edible mushroom.

For us mushroom is the inspiration of food art and cooking so we connect modern art, gastronomy, rural life and ecotoursim under sociocultural hub; after 1 year of hard work we have created the concept and atmosphere of “Mushroom Art House” where guests are kindly invited to take part in mushroom tours together with locals, share cooking experience and recipes of mushroom delicacies that community ladies are offering, stay at local families and use this unique potential as a play ground for different art visions and inspiration. Social engagement in art projects are driving force of our community to develop more. Together with our local guides community guests are highly welcome to explore the authentic cultural heritage and historical sites located nearby of our geographical area, less popular, less known for mass-tourism, still virgin, wild and misteryous.

This project serves as a model of development of community based tourism in rural areas, aims to support and strengthen Kursebi and nearby villages, create jobs for local women and youth, empower and improve the social and economic conditions of local people, enhance their opportunities to earn money for living and this way prevent their migration from the village.

Regarding further development of our community and upcoming plans and projects we will be publishing step by step.
