Over the weekend we hit a whopping 5,500 followers 🙌 so thought it was the perfect opportunity to reintroduce the team! 🚂

Andy - Andy owns Victor the Train 🚂, it’s his second love 🥰 (after his family of course) and there isn’t an inch of that train he doesn’t know! If he’s not doing maintenance 👨‍🔧 he’s cleaning 🧼 it, and the rest of the time he’s driving it 🛞 Andy’s had a really interesting work history before discovering the little island of Guernsey 🇬🇬 that he now calls home 🏠 he absolutely loves engaging with our customers sharing stories, and helping wherever he can to ensure a great experience on board Victor the Petit Train 😀

Lucy - A juggling 🤹 mum of 3, wife and business owner (Pajo's Pantry & Blush Bridal Boutique) Lucy and Andy met almost 4 years ago and what started as some admin for a bit of extra money soon turned into a fantastic friendship and a bigger role organising events and being part of the Petit Train team on the ground for cruise ship days! Lucy loves creating new and exciting events but also likes assisting to bring your bespoke ideas 💡 to life!

We’ve been busy the last couple of evenings…
Normally in January Victor is tucked up 🛌 for the Winter 💤
Bit different this year!
We’ve had two corporate events this past week and a Happy Birthday 🥳 train ride earlier on in the month.
We are trailing year round operation this year. So far the weather 🌦️ has behaved for us!

Great competition from our friends at Craftwise Guernsey!🇬🇬 🦉

✨ COMPETITION TIME! ✨

We need your help to celebrate Guernsey’s 80th Liberation Day coming up soon! We are looking for one special islander to design us a Guernsey themed fabric! Your design could be the one! Not only will your winning design be printed on fabric - the winner will also receive a £50 gift voucher!

The rules as follows:
All designs must be on a white background, the simpler the better, think outside the box - what does Guernsey mean to you? Entries must be entirely your own design, images from the internet must not be copied. The winning design will be used to create some cotton poplin. Please email us your entries to [email protected]. Please do not accept any Facebook or Instagram messages from any page claiming to be us. The winner will be contacted directly by email. The competition ends on Wednesday 5th February and is open to anyone. The designer will be required to assign the copyright of the design to Craftwise Limited.

Massive thanks to our fantastic Guernsey 🇬🇬 passengers who love ❤️ the 🚂 train. We are honoured that a Lights Tour is becoming a tradition for so many. Over 3000 of you joined us this Christmas.

Massive thanks also to my business partner Lucy. She sorts out all the enquiries and bookings, you wouldn’t believe the number of messages and emails that come in daily. Lucy makes sure the customer is always 👑 king and this allows me the time to keep the train in tip top condition so we can achieve the zero downtime target at such a critical time of year for us.

We absolutely love what we do and wish you all a 🥳 Happy New Year.
We’ll be back for February Half Term fun and Easter of course.

We all need to get behind this!

As the future of inter-island sea connectivity continues to look bleak for 2025, Islands Unlimited remain ready to look to providing daily high-speed foot passenger services within the Channel Islands from next spring.

Focus will be on the day-trip market, along with providing connections for 2-centre holidays and island hopping for tour operators.

Additionally, the proposed service will support the wider community and businesses by enabling daily connections.



The proposed schedule will introduce 464 return sailings between the Channel Islands from mid-May through to the end of October.

If focusing on day trip capacity alone, an additional 50,750 day-trips inward to each Bailiwick will be available. The additional revenue potential for each Bailiwick is £17.7m over a 5-year period.

Islands Unlimited have been engaging with both the States of Guernsey and States of Jersey for over 6 months to offer inter-island ferry services however, there has been a reluctance to firm up arrangements.

Operations Director, Chad Murray explains “We first offered inter-island ferry services to government back in May, with a request that they support the establishment of the service, given the economic and social benefits it will bring across the Channel Islands and the fact that it aligns and supports the various strategies of government.

At the time, this was met with some reluctance from certain areas however, we remain ready and waiting to mobilise the vessel and publish our schedule, should we manage to get the right level of government support.”

He went on to say “our extensive market research and stakeholder engagement across the Islands has confirmed our understanding that industry, the community and visitors would all like to see regular, consistent and cost-effective inter-island travel. This is a great opportunity for the islands, we just need to get it over the line”.

Islands Unlimited intend to offer a 200-passenger high speed catamaran which will provide daily services between Guernsey and Jersey, as well as incorporating services between Jersey, Sark and Alderney on certain days of the week.

This level of service and commitment to inter-island travel has not been seen for decades, which has had a detrimental impact across all sectors, whether it be business travel, sporting associations, evens, visitors and tour operations or the general community wanting to move more freely between the islands.

Mr Murray comments “We accept that the recent ferry tender process has occupied a lot of government’s time but this has now been resolved, with the exception of inter-island travel. We offered a solution back in May and this offer remains on the table.”

He went on to explain, “The landscape has changed with the delays caused by the tender process and that 2 operators are now planning to service Guernsey and Jersey independently.

This has caused us to re-evaluate our business plan due to reduced availability of suitable vessels as well as the uncertainty the whole situation has given to investors.

We now need further positive engagement with government to provide the comfort that they are behind us and endorse our operation.”

Islands Unlimited believe that, with positive engagement and support over the coming weeks, their operation could be available from May, with the schedule and booking system going live in the new year.
