This Thursday, 21st November, is Wear a Guernsey Day, and we have the perfect exhibition to celebrate this iconic garment.

Art for Guernsey has collaborated with Le Tricoteur Guernsey to present 'The Fabric of the Guernsey' an exhibition exploring the local and international history and stories of the guernsey through a series of commissioned artworks by Sally Ede-Golightly.

Each original artwork is paired with a unique guernsey, augmented with a bespoke stitched detail. Accompanying the artworks and guernseys are fascinating narratives which tell the stories behind this wonderful garment, and honour the people who wear it.

The exhibition will be running until the 25th January 2025 in the Art for Guernsey Gallery in St Peter Port.

Hugo wrote his epic Les Miserables whilst in exile in Guernsey. The novel is the current read for Her Majesty's book club, The Queen's Reading Room. Please visit their pages to learn more about the book club 📚

"My last few hours in Herm are spent enjoying the freedom this land offers. I scramble over the headland to discover a megalithic dolmen, embedded in its side. I walk barefoot across the northernmost beach, not another soul in sight. I make a promise in the solitude of this special place that I will return, even if that does make me – officially – a Hermit."

A lovely feature on Herm Island by Maddy Ando for Country Living Magazine.

While Herm's name implies seclusion, the island is ripe with wildlife and contented locals
