MISS INTERNATIONAL GHANA 🇬🇭 NATIONAL COSTUME

The Miss International Ghana National Costume is a symbolic masterpiece representing Ghana’s rich heritage, culture, and values. Worn for prestigious occasions, it showcases essential elements of Ghana’s identity:

Headpiece: Inspired by Ghana’s Coat of Arms, it symbolizes national unity and pride. The headpiece features symbols like the sword (representing traditional authority), Osu Castle (national governance), cocoa tree (agricultural wealth), and a gold mine (natural resources). The Black Star of Africa, symbolizing unity and freedom, crowns the crest, supported by two golden eagles bearing the national motto, “Freedom and Justice.”

Extended Feather Shoulders: In Ghana’s flag colors, these feathers symbolize Ghana’s aspiration to “fly high” and stand tall among nations.

Upper Fabric: The intricately woven fabric is inspired by Ghanaian basketry, symbolizing the craftsmanship and artistry of the Ghanaian people.

Kente and African Print: The costume incorporates a vibrant African print with a Kente layer underneath. Kente, Ghana’s iconic fabric, stands for cultural pride, known worldwide for its beauty and cultural significance.

This costume, designed by Ara Simpson with a headpiece by Raguel Deh, is worn by Celestina Obeng as a tribute to Ghana’s strength, freedom, and enduring legacy. It took skilled artisans hours of detailed work to create, honoring generations of Ghanaian tradition on the world stage.
