The spirit of time captured in words.

In this piece, the writer presents his experience as a traveller to Keta in an allegory.

Comparing the land to an old lady who remains charming and attractive, this allegory describes the resilience of Keta and the forgotten stories of the land buried with the part of the town submerged by the tidal waves and coastal erosion.

Despite the challenges faced by Keta, the writer concludes by describing the land as the place to go for a rich cultural and historical experience as well as those seeking genuine peace of mind.

'Afɔ le ke me' [feet in a sand] is a term used by the Nayelli Travellers' Club to describe a break from one's usual routine for relaxation and rest. The 'Afɔ le ke me' travel experience is the Club's flagship event to the serene south-eastern coast of Ghana. Running for 3 years, the event has taken patrons to some iconic towns such as Sogakofe, Whuti, Woe, Anyanui, Tegbi, Ada Foah with Keta being the epicentre of each celebration.
