This tree is called Naa Dataa Tua (King’s Rival Tree). It’s located at Yendi in the Northern Region of Ghana.

The tree is a historical baobab tree. In the olden days, people who were found to have had an affair with Yaa Naa’s wife (Yaa Naa is the King of of Dagbon, the oldest kingdom in Ghana) were beheaded on a rock and their heads thrown into a hole in the baobab tree.

It’s rather unfortunate that this historic place has been neglected. What else do you know about this place that hasn’t been captured in the video?

The Adomi bridge is a suspending bridge which vibrates and swings at rare cases when heavy duty trucks access it. The bridge which is an arch made of steel has an expansion joint at both ends made of rubber, this prevents activities from either the land or the lake to affect the bridge and vice versa.

History also has it that the late Flight Jerry John Rawlings flew a jet fighter under the bridge in 1979.

Under the Adomi bridge is the volta river which has lots of aquatic lives different species of fishes. Pleasure is here as people cruise on the river for fun and relaxation at the beautiful hotels along the banks.
