๐Helicopters on the horizon, sled dogs in the snow
May โ the snow had melted in town, but winter still held its grip on the mountain. We left Qeqertarsuaq behind by dog sled, climbing steadily through springโs edge to reach our cabin on Lyngmark Mountain, 790 meters above sea level. Our sled dogs rested in the sun, quiet and focused โ ready for what was coming.
Then came the hum of rotor blades. Two helicopters emerged on the horizon and landed right beside the cabin and the dogs. A surreal moment in the high Arctic โ remote, raw, and unforgettable.
Soon after, we continued by sled toward the top of Lyngmark Glacier, 950 meters above sea level, where the snow still stretched out in silence and brightness.
