Makasutu is a Mandinka word that means 'Holy Forest'.
Visit one of Gambia's best preserved forests for an unforgettable day out. Explore the tributary of The River Gambia by canoe, take a nature walk through the forest and see the troop of baboons up close. Watch the palm wine tappers scale the palm trees to extract the wine from the top of the tree, and have your fortune told by the Holy man of the forest. Lunch is a traditional Gambian buffet, followed by Jola dancing under the shade of the majestic Baobab tree. Don't forget to bring your swim wear and towel for a dip in the new pool Base Camp, and then climb the amazing viewing tower for breath taking scenery over the forest, river and mangroves. This really is Gambia's 'Must Do' Experience!
