The Gambia is the smallest country in continental Africa, it is rich in nature and human warmth. Gambia invites you on its adventure. Come and enjoy our immense virgin beaches, our scared forests, our welcoming villages, our great river. Gambia is surrounded by our neighbouring country, Senegal. Our coastline, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean boasts sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and tall pa

lm trees. The River Gambia crosses the country from east to west and divides the country into two, distinct parts. At some parts of its journey it is 20km wide! The official language is English and the currency, the Dalasi. We Gambians live in harmony with a wide variety of ethnic groups that preserve our languages (Mandinka, Fula, Wòlof, Jola, Serahuli….) and our traditions. Most people gain their livelihoods from agriculture or fishing.
