Also an introduction to kunti kinteh's local descendants.
You will then head off to James island ( kunta kinteh's island)

Practise your haggling before you visit!!
Don't be shy, it is expected.

There are many hand made beautiful wood carvings which you can also watch them being carved.
A visit to a local nursery school, children from 4 to 7 years of age.
Join in with the classroom activities, the children love to practise their English.

Lunch at lamin lodge.
A well earned lunch in an impressive wooden stilted building amongst the mangrove forest on the Gambia river.
Sometime you will have banana loving visitors!!

Abukou Nature Reserve
Explore this exciting nature reserve through the cleared pathways.
Expect to find Green Vervet and Red Colobus Monkeys as well as an encounter with crocodiles at Bamboo Pool
Visit the animal orphanage, housing and caring for an array of animals
Pack a few bananas to feed the monkeys.

It is what it's called!

A lovely relaxing day, enjoy the beach bar, hammocks and restaurant.
Just north of the beach, walking distance, you wil see rows of colourful Pirogues, and fish in the smoking process.

If you visit the beach on Sundays traditional west African wrestling can be watched in the late afternoon.

Your day will be completely relaxed....a must!!

Fatala Park is on 200 hectres of land with the biggest species of antelope.
An approximate 1 hour drive around the reserve seeing the animals in their own habitat in the wild includin many species of colourful birds.

There is also a lion walk, if you wish to do this there will be a informative talk before you commence on the tour.

Cold refreshments and pizza is included .
