After a successful tourist season, we are all very busy making repairs and bringing the standards back up to the quality that our guests deserve and enjoy. We are singing this loud and clear at Kingfishers Holiday Apartments, Bijilo. The Gambia.

Due to a land acquisition order for the proposed link road construction, 48M of our compound frontage was demolished. From .75 M up to 3.14 M inside was destroyed. We would be here for an age if we explained the level of disruption and heartache this caused. Although this had been hanging over our heads for over 2 years there was no movement or communication as to when the work would start. Then out of the blue we were given less than 2 weeks- notice. To say that the last 6 months has been difficult would be an understatement.

NOW we are back… up and running… and taking bookings from Mid-November 2023.
We look a little different in places but the actual apartments remain beautifully the same and we believe that we have done our very best with the reconstruction.

Huge thanks to the Kingfishers team, who stuck with us during this difficult time. Amadou and Saikuba, you are superstars. Thank you.

We look forward to welcoming returning guests and new guests. We feel pretty sure that you will not be disappointed.

An absolutely magnificent little gem
Thank you so much to Charlie and Clinton for making our stay at Kingfishers so enjoyable, we felt like we were in paradise !
The accommodation was excellent, everything we needed, spotlessly clean and maintained every day by Amadu or Tom (good boys ).
we also felt very secure as the reception area is covered 24 hours, at night by Mam the nightwatchman - thanx.
Entertainment provided by our hosts was also excellent , including the live music (band practice) once a week.
The daily menu of "eat what Charlie and Clinton eat " was superb and many tasty home-cooked meals were enjoyed especially Sunday roast.
Two pools, cleaned daily. Sunbeds and seating areas were all very good. Beautiful flower borders are all perfectly well maintained.
Fishing trips were organised and greatly enjoyed by all.
We are old codgers, who are well travelled and have been around the world a few times and have stayed in many different types of accommodation. From a mud hut on a desert island to the Burj al Arab in Dubai.
Kingfishers in The Gambia, pound for pound beats the lot hands down.
Originally we only planned to stay for 2 weeks in The Gambia but when we found Kingfishers we ended up staying for 2 months, it really felt like home.
So thank you again Charlie and Clinton for everything, we will be back soon.
