Elafonisi is a long peninsula which is separated and creates a long beach and an islet opposite it. It has been included in the protected areas Natura, as it is full of dunes with sand lilies and cedars.

Also, Elafonisi is visited by the endangered turtles careta careta and many species of rare animals. It is strictly forbidden to cut plants or even get a bottle of sand with you.

The peninsula forms beautiful beaches with white sand and turquoise waters, reminiscent of exotic Caribbean landscape. The sand in many places is pink from the thousands of broken shells. At the point where it breaks the peninsula the water does not exceed 1 meter and creates a small lagoon, ideal for children.

The east side of the beach, facing the lagoon, is organized and attracts many visitors. There are umbrellas, showers, lifeguard, cafeterias and changing rooms. The beaches on both sides of the island are less crowded and more beautiful. If you want to isolate yourself completely, you can walk along the peninsula to find a cove that you like.

In order to reach Elafonisi from Chania, we would recommend you to drive on the National Road towards Kissamos (Kasteli). About 1 km. before Kasteli, you turn right and follow the sign towards Topolia gorge and then, the signs towards Elafonisi

Don’t let your age determines your capabilities. Age is just a number, you’re just as old or young as you set it in your mind. It’s all about the mindset. Remember, you become what you focus on.

You are never too old or too young to set goals. Experience is what defines wisdom, not age.

There are those who’ve started at their young age and also there are those who’ve started at their 40s. Age doesn’t matter, It’s a vision, determination, and a strong desire that’s what drives you to make things happen despite how old or young you are.

It’s never too late to set another goal. Anyone from any age can turn their dream into a reality, but, what it will take are dedication and courage. Nothing can stop those who are determined enough.

The name Seitan Limania (sometimes shortened to Seitan Limani) means “Devil Harbour” in a combination of Turkish and Greek, in reference to the nasty currents around the mouth of the gorge.

Regardless of what you call it, though, Seitan Limania is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches on Crete. With a mix of sand and pebbles at the edge of gorgeous blue water, all hemmed in by steep cliffs, it is one of the most photographed beaches on the island.

Located on the Akrotiri Peninsula not far from Chania, one of Crete’s major centres, Seitan Limania beach is both small and popular, meaning it can fill up quickly.

The beach itself is small and sheltered, which can be a double-edged sword. The tiny beach and tall cliffs keep the wind out and make swimming easy and comfortable. On the other hand, it means the sun only reaches the beach for a few hours per day, the water is typically cold because of the lack of sun and even a couple dozen people will pretty much fill the place up.

When we start expecting things from others, we set ourselves up for disappointment because other people are inevitably going to let us down because they are human.

We receive messages from society that happiness is created by fulfillment of our expectations. The problem is that our expectations tend to be focused on external things we can’t control. And when we base so much of our well-being on those things, we become outcome dependent. In turn that can turn us into becoming controlling of other people and things because we are trying to get those needs met.

When we come from a place of abundance and find gratitude for even the smallest things, our perspective shifts. Because we don’t expect anything or believe we are owed anything, we can appreciate everything that comes our way.

We know that we are accountable and responsible for our own happiness and our experience.

Everything else that happens becomes a bonus.

The beach is filled with cedar trees and sand dunes, reminding another place completely different of all other Crete beaches. If you ever visit the beach please take care and respect this lovely scenery.

The path to the beach is a bit tricky and you'd better have a look on the map above before try to be there. Once you park your car you need to walk at about 10 minutes down to the beach. Believe me it's a really nice path you'd totally enjoy the route.

Kedrodasos is a wonderful choice for camping and a favorite beach for naturists. It is a very nice beach with white sand and some smooth flat rocks around the sandy coast. It's away from all and there are no facilities nearby, so you'd better plan your trip to Kedrodasos, water and some food is a necessity. Since the beach is secluded, you should keep it clean and not littered.

The European path E4 crosses the beach as you can see there are signs all over the place.

Kedrodasos is one of the last European paradises.

If you find yourself in the charming area of Chalepa, it is impossible to miss the sight of Evangelistria church on the crossroad of Eleftheriou Venizelou Str, Profitis Elia Str and George Romanou Str.. A big, double bell towered, cross shaped church with an impressive blue dome and two clocks on each side is located on an inclining slope facing west the rest of the city. It is the largest church in the Municipality of Chania, in an historic race among the boroughs in the early 20th century, to construct the biggest church. In 1908, the Cretan state gave away a substantial plot that was once the army Ottoman stables, for the construction of a grand church.

However, due to lack of adequate financial funding, its construction took 15 long years until completion. Ambitious locals and patriotic, Orthodox drive among the members of the Chalepa community, led to the collection of private funds and lotteries from all over the world, among the Christian Orthodox countries. On the 12 of August 1923, the official opening ceremony was held by the Bishop of Chania, Agathaggelo Ninolaki.

The church of Evangelistria is very popular among the local, and due to it’s large capacity, various prominent ceremonies are being held there.

We want everything we do to inspire others to follow their dreams.

Sometime all you need is to see a picture or read a quote that resonates with you or gives you that push you need to make the jump!

Whether it’s to go travel, see the world, take that adventure you’ve always wanted, or change your life.

Say ‘yes’ to something out of your comfort zone: This is always scary to do and I’m not saying it has to be something drastic as something that might seem a big deal to others might not be to you, but do something that you wouldn’t normally say yes to, whether it’s leaving a job you’re unhappy in to start a new career, saying yes to a date or booking a trip of a lifetime – do something that makes you scared as incredible things happen outside of your comfort zone.

Splantzia is one of the most unique neighborhoods in Chania city. It is located on the south of the eastern part of the Old Venetian Harbour.

In the center of the neighborhood lies the scenic Splantzia square – officially called 1821 square, commemorating the year of the Greek revolution for independence. It is a wonderful small square with big plane trees providing shade during the hot summer months.

On the edges of the square there are lots of tables and chairs from the adjoining cafes and taverns, which are perfect to relax after your sightseeing in Chania city.
Around the square there are also two known churches of Chania city. The biggest of them, is the imposing Agios Nikolaos (St. Nicholas) church.

So, get to know this magnificent church in person.

Freedom is the state of being liberated and emancipated.

A person who is free is not limited in any capacity and is, therefore, able to explore beyond his imaginations.

The meaning of the statement; "Freedom is the oxygen of the soul." is;
* When people are granted freedom, they can exist unhindered and enjoy a new lease of life free from restrictions. Just as oxygen helps the soul to flourish, a state of freedom provides a flourishing ground that allows people to reach their potentials.

The statement above describes how freedom is similar to the role of oxygen in the soul. Oxygen enables us to breathe and enjoy life.

Freedom in a similar room provides room for us to go about our activities without disruptions from people or institutions.

Authenticity is Magnetic …and by that I mean…being “real” is attractive, compelling, shiny — respectable.

That said, being you doesn’t mean EVERYONE will dig you — we all have different flavours and tastes.

But it does mean that your tribe will be able to see you. And the people who are ready to have what you offer will hear you. And the universe will get a very clear signal about what makes you more…YOU. And it will deliver more YOU-affirming things into your life.

And what’s the alternative to being authentically strong, vulnerable, powerful, tender, loving, genius, courageous, bold, and devoted? Being fake strong (weak); fake vulnerable (and that is just deceptive); being fake powerful (which would make you arrogant); fake tender (nasty); fake loving (not always a terrible thing, but still…); being fake genius (that’ll get you sued); fake devoted (major soul-sucking yuck for everyone involved.)

Embodying real passion, real connection, real love…truly irresistible in every way.
Authenticity is magnetic‼️

Be kind to your body, gentle with your mind and patient with your heart. Stay true to your spirit, cherish your soul and never doubt yourself.

Sometimes, embracing your mind and your body can be tricky. Most of us repeatedly play a tape that tells us whether we are bright or witty enough, or if we are the right size or strength. Working through these thoughts to shift to a more positive mindset is undoubtedly easier for some than others, but we have tools and ideas readily available to help us make these changes.

The Koules fortress, but mostly known as Aptera fortress, is located 12km east of Chania near the Paleokastro region, pretty near to the Kalami village and on the relics of ancient Aptera.

The fortress was built by the Turks after the Cretan revolution in 1866, during the effort to control Crete again through a net of fortification works. It was built by Hüseyin Avni Paşa and is a representative sample of fortress architecture of 19th century. The purpose of it’s location was to control the Apokoronas valley where it used to be the passage to Chania. Along with the other Koule fortresses, the Turks built it so they could control the Souda port as well as to suport the Ingedin fortress.

The Koules of Aptera or Subashi fortress is preserved until today in a great condition. It owns two towers, one looking out to the west ( as to control the Keramia passage) and one looking out to the east ( towards Kalyves). The former was used to communicate with the Souda fortress and the latter with the koules of Kalyves and Nio ChorioThe fortress was the biggest fortification establishment of it’s period. The architectural volumes expanded symmetrically in a Π shape that created a rectangular yard. The circular towers are on the southwest and southeast corner of the fortress, while the central gate is located at the east side, well protected by a recess.

The soldiers used to get to the battlements of the Koules chamber through interior wooden stairs. The fortress was equipped with all the necessary barracks spaces, lodging infrastructure, warehouses, prison cells, kitchen and dining room. Excellent engineering has preserved the fortress in a very good condition up to this day. This specific fortress was used as a school for the Megala Chorafia village, following the Turkish retreat from Crete

You can if you think you can. Believing in yourself is everything!

Yes, it is your thinking that really matters, because your actions are the result of your thoughts. Negative thinking produces ineffective actions. Imagine having a difficult task or problem to solve, how much easier do you think it is when you are positive and think that you can do it? And how difficult do you think it will be if you lack confidence?

If you don’t believe in yourself, and in your abilities, if you allow the first person who criticises your work to bring you down and cause you to give up on your dream, you may just lose your spark and settle for much less than you deserve. If you can somehow muster up the courage and strength to persist, to chase your dreams and to keep believing in yourself, though, the outcome could be entirely different!

Ever feel like you’re not living your ideal life?

I know how that feels. We all have dreams and aspirations for our lives, and it can feel like we’re not getting anywhere when we compare our reality to our imagined future. The past is where you learn the lesson, and the future is where you apply the lesson. I know this doesn’t sound very profound, but it means that if you’re not happy with your life where you are now, you have the power to change it.

This is the process of life. In the past, you learn the lesson. In the future, you apply the lesson. But the most important question to ask yourself is what do you do with the present?

The present is the bridge that connects the past to the future, and if you are not living in the present, it is impossible to live in the future. So, what you do in the present sets the stage for your future.
