Today, we celebrate #AgiosNektarios, the Wonderworker of #AeginaIsland. He is among the most celebrated #GreekSaints, honoured in the #EasternOrthodoxChurch and the #EasternCatholicChurch.

Nektarios was highly respected and often regarded as a Saint when he was still alive for conducting his life with integrity and purity, for his virtues, gifts of precognition and miracles he performed and for his publications. The Orthodox Church proclaimed him a Saint on April 20, 1961, recognizing that God had confirmed Nektarios' Sanctity through the miracles attributed to him by people visiting his Holy relics.

There are various monasteries on the island, in addition to Agios Nektarios Monastery. They convey a sense of reflective peace, calm, and gentle warmth.

During the low season, the village still has two groceries, a bakery, a pharmacy, a masseuse, an art workshop where you can participate in creative workshops, and some options for pilates and yoga classes (@funkytwistofyoga). If you are from a northern country, you might find the sea warm enough to swim or paddle.

#AeginaTown is just a short ride from the village if you're looking for a livelier day or need to pick up art supplies, tools, magazines, or books. The bus runs three times a day during the winter, but we can assist you with car rental if needed.

#AeginaIsland is a short 1h speedboat ride from #Athens, which allows you to enjoy museums, culture, concerts, and many other social events and get back to the island's peace as fast as you want.

Starting the day around 9 am with a scenic drive to Sfentouri, embarking on a 45-minute hike to the Dragon House through a path surrounded by young olive groves.

Enjoy a small pistachio-based snack (you'll find some in #AgiaMarina before leaving if you're tempted) and relax on the rocks before returning to the car for another picturesque 45-minute walk.

Then, drive down to #Perdika and indulge in the delicious meals at the Port Taverna (with fresh grilled fish or vegetarian meze). After a digestive geranium or mastic licor, return to Oneiro Glico to unwind by the swimming pool, perhaps with a soothing dip in the hot tub.
