By car:
A2 Egnatia Odos Highway connects the Region to the East with Turkiye and to the West with Region Central Macedonia and southern Greece !
Vertical roads connect the Region to the North:
Drama-Exochi -Bulgaria (Gotse Delchev)
Xanthi-Thermes- Bulgaria (Zlatograd)
Komotini-Nimfaia-Bulgaria (Makaza)
Alexandroupoli-Kyprinos-Bulgaria (Ivaylovgrad)
Alexandroupoli-Ormenio-Bulgaria (Svilengrad)
Alexandroupoli-Kastanies- Tutkiye (Edirne)

By bus:
Bus lines from Thessaloniki to Kavala, Drama,
Xanthi, Komotini, Alexandroupoli

By air:
Dimokritos Intrnational Airport (Alexandroupoli) serves flights to Athens, Heraklio (Crete), Sitia (Crete)!
Megas Alexandros Internatinal Airport (Kavala) serves flights to Athens and European cities!

By boat:
Port of Alexandroupoli serves routes to Samothraki - Lemnos island!
Port of Kavala serves routes to Thassos-Lemnos-Lesvos-Chios-Lavrio-Peiraeus!

By train:
In operation service is the route Alexandroupoli -Ormenio!
