(in Greek: Porfyro) color T-shirt has a history.

In the Ancient Times Purple Dye had a very complex manufacturing process so it was very rare and expensive.

It was extracted from thousands of Sea Shells and could not easily fade, but instead was becoming brighter with weathering and sunlight.

In 1856 William Perkin at the age of 18 created the first synthetic Purple Dye by mistake and the hard process of making Purple Dye ended.

MY STORY

My name is Achilles and i am from Ancient Olympia. I like to be creative and i wanted to improve the way people experience the history of our place, so here is my story... Everything started a few years back when i went with some friends to visit the Archaeological site of Olympia. It was really hard for all of us to figure out how Olympia looked like originally. You see, most of the temples and statues are now ruins and none of them are reconstructed. Even though I know a lot of things about our place I thought it would be great if we could really see them. Then an idea came. What if i reconstruct everything in Virtual Reality? Immediately i start reading history books and scientific papers about the dimensions , the materials etc. to help me recreate everything. One year later i completed the reconstruction and It was time to look through the Virtual Reality Glasses... The hard work paid off. Everything looked amazing. The feeling of presence was unbelievable. It was really like i visited Olympia back in time. Imagine to be inside the Temple of Zeus, standing in front of the 12 m (43 ft) tall statue and really feel like you are there. The experience was breathtaking. Through "Olympia Back In Time" all visitors can now see how Ancient Olympia was and appreciate it the way i do.
