“Efploia”, a vessel of 24 meters length which can accommodate 22 people, is the ideal way of admiring a marvelous Ionian sunset.

We will set sail from the port of Argostoli at 18:30 and head to the Vardianoi island. This place is a deserted island with ruins of an old monastery you can still visit. There you can swim into the clear blue waters if you like. After this unique place, we will sail to the west to enjoy undisturbed the magnificent sunset of Kefalonia.⛵️

Skala: The beautiful resort of Skala lies 36 km southeast of Argostoli and 12 km from Poros. It counts 800 inhabitants, most of whom are involved in fishing and agriculture.
The settlement was built after the major earthquake of 1953 that destroyed the ancient village of Skala. The ruins of Old Skala still survive today. ❤️

Kefalonia wild horses

The semi-wild horses of Ainos live on the S.SE slopes of the great mountain of Kefalonia, above the village of Arginia. Their natural habitat is the area surrounding the monastery of Zoodohou Pigis (The Source of Life). Ainos one and only freshwater spring is there, with a scant supply of spring water to quench the thirst of sheep, goats, people and horses alike.🐴

Mt. Ainos

Mount Aenos or Ainos is the tallest mountain on the Ionian island of Cephalonia, Greece, with an elevation of 1,628 metres. Its bedrock is predominantly dolomite and limestone of Cretaceous age. Most of the mountain range is designated as a National Park area and is covered with Greek fir and black pine.🌲

On August 16th, the local Saint Gerasimos and the monastery of Omala celebrates. The biggest holiday in Kefalonia is on August 15th.This day is marked by the death of the Saint. Thousands people come to venerate the relics of the saint in the newly built temple. The celebration begins in the afternoon of the previous day with the liturgy. It is the biggest festival of the island that lasts two days.
