Where to eat, swim, stay (and probably work 💻) in Crete, Greece 👇

📍 STAY

Chania
Chania Old Town is the perfect location to explore the western parts of the island. Not only is the old town beautiful, there are plenty of options to stay, eat, and drink. I stayed in a hotel just outside the Old Town which was perfect especially to park your car - which (if you’re not into bus tours) is essential for your trip!

Rethymno and Heraklion are also great options to stay. I would say it depends on what time of the year you’re travelling, in summer temperatures I’d prefer the Chania region as the most beautiful beaches are on the west coast!

Keep in mind that Crete is a big island, so you probably won’t cover all spots across the island in one trip.

📝 Red White Adventures: I knew Greece was beautiful but I didn’t realize it looked like this too!?😱 Everyone knows about the incredibly beautiful Greek islands and the pristine beaches but before coming to the Peloponnesus I didn’t realize that Greece is 80% mountains and full of incredible waterfalls 😍 This one is called "PolylimnioWaterfalls" and is super easy to access 👇🏼 🚗 It only takes 45 minutes to the trailhead from Kalamata. If you’re in Athens, it’s a 3-hour drive! 🥾 The hike is easy-medium as it’s 30-40 minutes to reach the falls & the trail is mostly flat (with a bit of incline at the end). However, a good chunk of the surface is on slippery rock so bring shoes with a good grip or go barefoot! 💰 The trail is free & so is the parking! ☕️ There’s a little cafe at the trailhead called KADI cafe and the owner, Andy, is super friendly. You can buy a Fredo Cappuccino, a spinach pastry, or something else before or after you go hiking (he’s usually open till 5pm) 👙 Bring your swimsuit & towel and jump in the water! But be prepared for the cold 🥶 Did you know Greece looked like this!? 😍 #workfromgreece #digitalnomads #peloponnese #discovergreece
