Trip Overview: The time of departure is at 07:15 am. First, we are going to visit Meteora! Our itinerary will expose you to the amazing experiences and breath-taking landscapes that the area has to offer. The Meteora is a unique geological phenomenon, a collective of natural sandstone rock pillars, which have served as places of worship throughout modern history. The Meteora rocks stand proudly at the centre of an extraordinarily beautiful Greek landscape, housing 24 monasteries in total, of which 6 remain active. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List , Meteora attracts thousands of tourists to the region each year! We will visit the Transfiguration of Christ's Monastery and the Holy Monastery of Saint Stephen (or maybe another monastery depending on the circumstances).Then, we will visit Trikala! Built-in the Thessalian plain in the middle of Greece, the medium-sized provincial city of Trikala is a unique destination for those who want to visit a city known not only for its natural and manmade beauty but also for being the first smart city in Greece! Trikala is the homonymous Prefecture's capital and was built on the location of ancient Trikki. Asklipios, the most eminent doctor of antiquity, originated and practiced medicine there. The Lithaios River (the river of Lithi = “forgetfulness” in mythology) flows through the city of Trikala. The city owes much of its beauty to its river as well as to its historical monuments, exquisite urban planning, spacious squares, parks, and pedestrian streets. During your free time, you can enjoy wandering around the Asclepius pedestrian street; and taste the Greek cuisine at the old grocery store, where you can find the famous ''tavernas''! In the afternoon, we will be on our way back to Athens, where we will arrive late in the evening.
