Cockles are a type of clam that’s found in the Mediterranean and “it warms our cockles” when we encounter some fresh ones by the . Had we found more we would have made a simple pasta with white wine, garlic, lemon zest and juice and fresh parsley.
We only found a handful so we simply shucked them and squeezed lemon juice on them and slurped them down…naughty noises and all. Delicious

🦑Calamari has long triangular flaps on both sides of the body. Squid has pointed flaps which are smaller, at the narrow end of the body.

You may be wondering, “What is Tzatziki sauce?” This is a classic Greek appetizer (or “meze”) made from thick strained yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, and fresh dill. •Grate 1/2 of a large cucumber, unpeeled. •Drain the grated cucumber through a fine mesh sieve. •Add 1 1/2 cups plain, full-fat Greek yogurt, 2 large garlic cloves, finely minced, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a large bowl. •Mix the yogurt and other ingredients well.
