➡️ Visit early morning or late afternoon when it is less busy.
➡️ don't forget to visit the museum shop where you will found beautiful gifts.
➡️ there is a cafe/ restaurant in the museum and it's worth the visit.

Be aware that timed entry tickets are required for all visitors.
Buy tickets in advance, on-line, through the official site, https://hhticket.gr
Book a guided tour with an official guide to get the most out of your visit. ( ask us for help)
Wear confortable sport shoes and don't forget your hat and suncreen as it gets really hot during the summer.
Be extremely careful when it rains as some parts may be slippery.
Don't forget to visit the Areopagus Hill for stunning views.

On March 25, Greece celebrates the start of the war of Greek independence agaist the Ottoman empire.
This day is as well a significant Greek Orthodox celebration.
The 25th of March is a National holiday in Greece.
If you find yourself in Athens this day, don't miss the military parade that takes place every year at 11am in the centre of Athens.
Another tradition of this day, is to eat fryed salt cod served with a garlic dip, you will hear it as "bakaliaro - skordalia".

Today, is know as "Clean Monday", or "Kathara Deftera."
What you will hear probably a lot around, is the phrase "kali Sarakosti." Sarakosti comes from “saranta”, the Greek word for forty, and signifies the forty days of Lent, which begins on Clean Monday and ends on Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday.
Today's tradition includes kite flying, a popular kids' ( and not only) activity.
The Philopappou area is the most popular area for the Athenians to fly their kite, have a pic-nic or just watching all these kites up to the sky.
