I was super happy when I discovered 'Portatif', a little charming Parisian style coffee shop in Kolonaki area, at the heart of Athens.
Have you tasted its Devine croissants?

One of the legendary sites that sits beneath the slopes of the Acropolis on the southwest side, is the stunning open-air theatre, Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
In ancient times, Odeons were built for musical contests and this ancient stone theatre has gone on to host some of the world’s best musical performances during the last 60 years since its modern day re-opening, including Nana Mouskouri, Luciano Pavarotti and Frank Sinatra to name a few.

Be sure to check out their events page for information of performances that are scheduled at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus between May and October

Lycabettus Hill is located in the center of Athens, Greece. It rises 300 meters (almost 1,000 feet) above sea level, offering stunning views of the city and the Aegean Sea.

To reach Lycabettus Hill:

1. **On Foot**: If you’re in central Athens, you can walk to the base of Lycabettus Hill. The starting point for the hike is near Kolonaki Square.

2. **Funicular Railway**: Alternatively, you can take the Lycabettus Funicular Railway, which departs from the Aristippou Street entrance near Kolonaki Square. The funicular takes visitors to the top of the hill in just a few minutes, saving time and effort.

3. **Public Transportation**: You can also use public transportation to reach the base of the hill. Buses and the metro serve the area around Kolonaki Square, making it easy to access Lycabettus Hill from various parts of Athens.

Once you reach the top of Lycabettus Hill, you can enjoy panoramic views of Athens, visit the Chapel of St. George, have a meal or drink at the restaurant, and soak in the breathtaking scenery. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking stunning vistas of the city and beyond.

The National Art Gallery of Athens is the most important museum for the history of art in Greece. It is located in a walking distance from Syntagma Square, just opposite Athens Hilton Hotel.

This gallery was established in 1900 and the first curator was the important Greek painter, George Iakovides. The initiative for the opening of the gallery was the donation of the lawyer and art-lover, Alexandros Soutsos. This is why the gallery is also called Museum of Alexandros Soutsos. After his death in 1986, Soutsos left his large collection of art (107 pieces) to the Greek State, so that a gallery was founded.
