In the first day of 2024 we are visiting with our Italian guests the best preserved ancient Athenian at Eleftherai.
Eleftherai was the border between Athens and Thebes, Attica and Boeotia and the castle is a fine example of classical defensive , in the middle of a wonderful natural landscape!

What most people do not know though is that inside the area of the observatory the holy area dedicated to the nymphs still exist together with the inscription “ΗΙΕΡΟΝ ΝΥΜΦΩΝ” (sanctuary of the Nymphs).

Today we have crossed the border with our Italian guests towards North Macedonia.
After visiting Heraclea Lyncestis, a city founded by king Philip the II, we arrived in Ohrid, where we walked around the old city and visited some of the Byzantine churches, masterpieces of Christian art!
