Latest Legal Update on Renewable Energy

The EU Directive 2018/2001 sets a binding target for renewable energy's share in the EU's gross final energy consumption by 2030. Recently, the European Commission issued new Recommendations (May 13, 2024) focusing on speeding up permit-granting procedures and enhancing renewable energy auction design.

Key highlights include:
- Improving permit processes and long-term network planning
- Removing regulatory barriers
- Emphasizing auction criteria beyond pricing, such as quality, timely delivery, innovation, environmental sustainability, and cybersecurity

These updates aim to accelerate the transition to renewable energy across Member States.

Επίκεινται οι Ευρωεκλογές μέσα σε ένα κλίμα αναντίστοιχης προς τη σημασία τους έλλειψης ενδιαφέροντος και λόγου για την Ευρώπη και την προοπτική της, δηλαδή την προοπτική της χώρας. Η δημόσια σφαίρα και το πολιτικό μας σύστημα ασχολείται με ο,τιδήποτε άλλο εκτός των μειζόνων διακυβευμάτων για τον τόπο.

Ευχαριστώ το Syntagma Watch για την πρόσκληση συγγραφής άρθρου για το γιατί εκ των πραγμάτων μας αφορούν οι Ευρωεκλογές και το γιατί η ενεργή δημοκρατική συμμετοχή συνιστά καθήκον κάθε ευρωπαίου πολίτη.

Από τον Επίλογο του κειμένου του καθ. Α. Μεταξά:

"Το ενωσιακό εγχείρημα βασίζεται σ’ ένα αξιακό προσανατολισμό που κατατείνει σε μια ποιοτικά διαφορετική δόμηση των ανθρωπίνων σχέσεων στην ευρωπαϊκή Συμπολιτεία και κοινωνία στη βάση δημοκρατικής συμμετοχής και αλληλεγγύης. Ο ρόλος του Δικαίου, κι επομένως του νομοθέτη, σε αυτό το πλαίσιο είναι κομβικός. Το Δίκαιο καλείται να συγκροτήσει τις νομιμοποιητικές του προϋποθέσεις όχι ως μια παγιωμένη δομή και εικόνα, αλλά ως ένα δίκαιο ανοικτό, δυνάμενο να αναπλαισιώνεται από – και να αναπλαισιώνει – την ιστορικά δυναμική ενοποιητική πορεία. Η σύγκλιση, διαμέσου της κανονιστικής τους κατοχύρωσης, ήτοι δια του Δικαίου, σε κοινές αξιακές κατηγορίες συνιστά βασικό εργαλείο παραγωγής ταυτοτικών συζεύξεων, στην εμπέδωση των οποίων μπορεί να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο. Η συμμετοχή συνεπώς κάθε Ευρωπαίου πολίτη στις ευρωεκλογές και η διατύπωση της εκλογικής βούλησής του συνιστά ένα σημαντικό πολιτικό χρέος. Όχι μόνο διότι τούτο αντιστοιχεί σε κάποιο αφηρημένο δημοκρατικό του καθήκον, αλλά ως συνδρομή στη συνδιαμόρφωση ενός κοινού μέλλοντος για τον ίδιο, την ευρωπαϊκή κοινωνία και τις νεότερες γενιές."

Ο Καθηγητής κ. Αντώνης Μεταξάς, Διευθύνων Εταίρος της Μεταξάς & Συνεργάτες Δικηγορική Εταιρεία, προσεκλήθη ως Εισηγητής στο Επιμορφωτικό Πρόγραμμα που συνδιοργανώνουν το Εφετείο Αθηνών και η Ένωση Δικαστών & Εισαγγελέων με θέμα «Εφαρμογή του Ευρωπαϊκού Δικαίου επί υποθέσεων Ειδικού Ενοχικού, Εμπορικού Δικαίου, Δικαίου Κεφαλαιαγοράς και επί Προσωπικών Δεδομένων - Ενωσιακό Δίκαιο κρατικών ενισχύσεων και ενέργειας στη δικαιοδοτική ύλη των εθνικών Δικαστηρίων», το οποίο θα διεξαχθεί στην Αίθουσα Τελετών του Εφετείου Αθηνών από τις 07 Φεβρουαρίου έως τις 10 Απριλίου 2024.
