"Fantastic apartment. Very specious for the four of us and it looks exactly as in the photos. Each of the three rooms had its own AC and all were functioning perfectly. Also our host Nikolas was very friendly and helpful. The place felt like home. We would definitely stay here again."

The Olympic flame has been lit in a beautiful ceremony in Ancient Olympia 🇬🇷
Over the next 100 days the Greek fire will be carried from Greece to 🇫🇷 France by 10.000 torch bearers arriving at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris for the lighting ceremony on July 26th 2024.

🇬🇷 Ohi Day or Oxi Day (Greek: Επέτειος του Όχι, Epéteios tou Óchi [eˈpetios tu ˈoçi]; "Anniversary of the No") is celebrated throughout Greece, Cyprus and the Greek communities around the world on 28 October each year. Ohi Day commemorates the rejection by Greek prime minister Ioannis Metaxas of the ultimatum made by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini on 28 October 1940, the Hellenic counterattack against the invading Italian forces at the mountains of Pindus during the Greco-Italian War, and the Greek Resistance during the Axis occupation.

🇬🇷 After World War II it became a public holiday in Greece and Cyprus. The events of 1940 are commemorated every year with military and student parades. On every anniversary, most public buildings and residences are decorated with national flags. Schools and all places of work are closed.

"What a great spot! The apartment was the perfect size for our group of 8. It had great amenities and the neighborhood had a lot of great restaurants and shopping nearby. Nikos was an excellent host! He was quick to respond, flexible/cooperative and so very helpful. He provided great food recommendations and helped with arranging transportation for us, which was so nice given our large group. Would definitely stay again if I’m ever back in Athens!"

"A truly fantastic Airbnb. Had everything we needed and was in a great location. Easy transport all around Athens thanks to Omonia station so close. Many great restaurants around close to the apartment. The hosts were incredibly helpful with many recommendations on places to eat and things to do. They also helped arrange transport for us from and to the airport and port. Would definitely stay here again!"

"The place was exacto like the pictures! It was beautiful and it looked brand new. The kitchen was very clean and the washrooms too. We went with a 90 year old and the apartments were everything we were looking for when travelling with an elderly person. Nikos was a great guide and helped us with everything."

"I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The host was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to make me feel at home. They were always available to answer any questions I had. The location was perfect - within easy walking distance of many great restaurants and shops, and if I needed to venture a bit further, the bus stop was conveniently located just around the corner. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I would highly recommend this host and their accommodations to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay."

A number of museums and archaeological sites in Greece will close early on the day of the national elections, Sunday, May 21, 2023, the Greek Culture Ministry recently announced.
In Athens:
👉 The Acropolis & slopes, the Ancient Agora, Areopagus Hill, Stoa of Attalus Museum, the Roman Agora, and Hadrian’s Library will be open from 08:00 to 17:00.
👉 The Kerameikos Cemetery and Museum, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Lycaeum of Aristotle will be open from 08:00 to 15:00.

"Excellent communication with the host before and during our stay. They gave us lots of help and advice. Accommodation was comfortable for our group of 8 adults. Two apartments on same private, lockable corridor. We had plenty of space to socialise and dine. Athens has so much to offer - history, culture, food, good transport and above all, its people. Would happily recommend Athens Capital Loft apartments."

"We loved our stay - the apartment was clean, spacious and modern with a fully equipped kitchen which was useful as although we ate out mostly, we cooked food for our 2 year old. The hosts had ensured we had a travel cot, pillow & blankets for him too which was all a far cry from many hard & dirty hotel cots we have been given! It was a nice touch. The area was maybe 30 min walk to Acropolis but otherwise we are happy to walk everywhere and the neighbourhood is vibrant with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The hosts gave us a few recommendations on check in and we can vouch for their taste. Service was great and responsive right down to booking taxis for our arrival and departure. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again."

Preparing for the Lent, and cleansing the body and mind from the carnivorous habits of the carnival season we call this very Monday (Feb. 27th), the Clean Monday.

Clean Monday is one of the most important bank holidays in Greece and the first day of the 40-days Lent until the Orthodox Easter. The menu is meat-free and dairy-free, as well as olive oil-free. The celebrations of Clean Monday have as a main activity, kite-flying. The kite symbolizes the human soul, which flies in the sky free and pure to meet the Creator.

"A perfect location for exploring Athens with comfortable beds & lots of space for two adults & two children for 7 days. Nikos was very helpful and responsive - great recommendations for neighbourhood restaurants, cafes etc in Exharia - all just 5 minutes walk away. City Bus Tour stops outside the Museum which just a few yards from the door so a really user friendly base and would highly recommend for families or two couples. Overall terrific value for a spotless and well appointed appartment on the 6th floor with two lifts hosted by very friendly people."
