of Lefka Ori mountain, where we'll have a short briefing by the tourguide. Leaving Therissos behind, we continue our off-road trip up to the mountains and in a short while we reach the village of Laki. Here you have the chance to taste the refreshing cold “frappe” - the most popular coffee in Greece - and to ramble through the old village, take photos of a gorgeous landscape and the monument in the central square. We depart from Laki and keep driving on dusty roads until the village of Deres, where next to a small river, under the shadow of trees we will enjoy our lunch in a traditional Cretan tavern. After lunch we get ready for a difficult more than one hour drive through hard dusty off-road leading us to the picturesque village of Palaia Roumata, where we'll make one more stop for coffee and admire the breathtaking view. Since we got some rest, we follow one more dusty off-road track, passing through a place that few people know - the Mesavlia gorge - where we can enjoy the beautiful landscape and take some photos. Then an easy road will lead us to the beach of Kolympari for a nice refreshing dive in the Cretan sea. Our journey ends about half past five in the afternoon, when we return full of memories back to the Royal car hire crete office and our hotels.
