Summer is sizzling!
ꜱᴜᴍᴍᴇʀ ᴛɪᴘꜱ
We hope you're having a good time and coping with the heat effectively. Please remember, just because it's summer, we shouldn't remain inactive claiming it's hot and therefore impossible to exercise!
There are always ways to stay active, we just need to adapt and perhaps change some of our ways. If we give up exercising completely, it will be twice as hard to get into good habits again once the weather's cooled off.
"But how can I exercise safely during the summer months?", you may ask. There is always a way to safely exercise and enjoy it!
Here's a few things you can do:
- Wear light clothes --> Materials that help your body breathe will help you stay cool
- Beat the heat --> Choose early mornings, evenings or shady routes for your exercise
- Know your limits --> When you're moving, your body is trying to send blood to your heart so It's perfectly fine to back off a bit when you're trying to exercise in that heat
- No food before exercise --> In order for your gut to digest the food, it takes blood and energy so that makes more body heat
- Hydrate --> It goes without saying that you should hydrate before, during and after exercise
