Let's talk about Santorini excursion from Crete.
I don't know why, but 70% of the guests coming on Crete and asking about Santorini.
As a person who sold thousands of that trips for 17 years and of course taking back a reviews, I can't say that it's not worth it or that there is one advice for everyone.
No. I have a hundreds examples when people just love it, and from hundred will be 5 who will not be satisfied.
I prefer to say all real facts about that tour and if people choose, so they know what is waiting for them ( as I do for every excursion)
For 2024 there is one speed boat who is doing one day trip or two days trips in a lot of languages
From Rethymno is every Tuesday and Saturday 2 hours and 30 min one way
From Heraklion is every day. 2 hours and 15 minutes one way.
Later they will start also from Agios Nikolaos every Wednesday
No trips from Chania but they have transfer from Chania to Rethymno port.
On the island you have 6 hours with transfers.
1.5 hour Oia town
2.5 hours Thira town
Two days trip can be with included 3☆ hotel Babis or you can book the hotel you like by yourself
A lot of people thinks that it not worth one day.
I can tell that not everyone has 2 or 3 days available for that. Not everyone has budget for 2 or more night.
And for a lot of people to see Santorini is a dream. So better to see than to wait when next tome you will go there for longer.
Santorini is not about running around. It's about feelings and beauty and about sitting in the bar and drinking wine, enjoying the view while people are running behind you.
