Hersonissos means fun and mass tourism, lovely beaches , busy but also less crowded , a modern town with dozens of shops selling tourist goods, clothes and jewellery, restaurants offering all kinds of food, cafeterias, bars and mostly mainstream nightclubs .It has been for decades the prime resort of greek tourism

Hersonissos also provides conference tourism in most large luxury hotels, the only golf course in Crete, and all-inclusive holidays for tourists of all ages who are only entertained in their hotel and rarely leave the premisses to get to know the beautiful sights of Crete. This is a shame, because Hersonissos is ideally placed for easy travel across the whole island, either by rented car or by bus. People with young children will find ways of keeping them happy in Hersonissos, with a day at a water park since there are two in the area, a visit to the Hersonissos Aquarium or the big CretAquarium in Gournes, a trip on one of the “happy trains” going around the city, on one of the many mini golfs scattered around, trying out a go-kart ride (mini karts also) or letting them enjoy themselves in play areas provided by many restaurants or bars.

800 meters up the hill to the south are the traditional villages of Koutouloufari, Piskopiano and Ano Hersonissos , with a variety of greek tavernas and small nice bars . Restaurants have high standards, small cobble stone streets, cool funky bars with totally different music, tapas bars and dimmed lighting give these villages a magical atmosphere. A visit will definatelly persuade you about the tranquility and relaxation of these 3 villages which are stretched in a 1,5 klm road

#HERSONISSOSBEACHES VOL ### ,last part . "FINAL VIDEO" In the edge of Hersonissos ,next to St.George the last video of this project. After 3 months of swimming,snorkeling ,exploring,capturing ,enjoying ,we came to the end! Approximately a coast line of 5-6 Km, 30 different beaches ,a huge variety of marine life ,gorgeous reefs ,rocks ,always in crystal clear blue water were captured in our camera those three months A big lesson for me ,i learnt so much about the history of the town ,i saw so many remainngs from different periods of the local history for more than 2 thousands years ,the minoan and roman port,the "modern"port ,the ancient pit ,and so many other... More than 100 GB . I hope you enjoed ,as much as i did ,i wish to those that have swam in our marine ,to be quickly back here again .For those that they saw something nice for the first time i wish them to visit us. #hersonissosbeaches vol i### ,part 3 ."By the seashore in St.George Bay Beach" A video that has been shot in middle of October.There have been some rains and south wind a few days earlier for that reason you might see some algae by the seashore .At this time(15th of Oct) the beach was "closed" ,meaning that there were not any employees to rent a chair or an umbrella.I know that the guys who work there are working very hard in case the algae comes in the beach ,which is happening just on May and October.The scenery though is fantastic ,the rock which used to be the ancient pit of Hersonissos ,giving material to the Minoans to built their houses is dominating the place.The plants ,unique of the cretan plant life are also beautifull ,as for the marine and the view to the whole Hersonissos Bay ,just incredible. #hersonissosbeaches #summer_is_still_here #enjoy_ur_life #landofexperiences #beachlife

#hersonissosbeaches vol xxviii ,part 1 . "The Nudist Beach " We are already in the 7th beach in Saradari .This is the beach which is known since the early 80s as the "Nudist Beach" .People that love to be naked in the beach are hanging out here ,enjoying their swimm in the gorgeous marine without any clothes or swimming suits .It is located exactly next to the previous one .The point is that "Nudist Beach" has not an entrance so if you like to visit it ,you shall come by using the entrance of the previous or the next beach .Of course ,the time that we shot in this beach ,around in the middle of November there were no other visitors .I am not so sure if they would like to be on camera naked ,it is understandable that there would be possibly a missunderstanding. The beach is beautifull ,with smoothy white sand although there are some hidden little rocks under the sand so you should be carefull.I was not ,so i had a little accident ,hurting my toe a bit ,as you ll see in the video. But that didnt prevent me to make an other video for #hersonissosbeaches ....! #hersonissosbeaches #summer_is_still_here #enjoy_ur_life #landofexperiences #beachlife
