Kalo mina! Good morning, everyone. I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Dismal day here today, but I, for one, am enjoying the display of wild flowers being posted here. Today the wonderful, autumnal colours of Euphorbia dendroides. It is a really stunning sight to discover a hillside covered with this beautiful euphorbia. More often found in the west of the island, but also found in scattered locations in the east. This photo was taken near Neapoli in Lassithi province.

This will be our 15th year running trips into the mountains for guests who want to experience something a little different. We started off running flower finding trips, but have since expended into day trips for all interests. Whether you are interested in wild birds, stunning scenery, traditional Cretan cuisine, even raki brewing, just let us know and we will devise a tailormade itinerary to suit just you and your friends and family. Me out in the mountains with guests earlier this year. In the background is an ancient church with mediaeval frescoes. In the olive tree was the nest of the mammoth wasp and it was fascinating to watch the insects going in and out! No-one was stung! Visit is optional for those that don't like wasps! :-) First photo taken by Bil Harrison, second by me!

Due to the collapse of Thomas Cook's, I have three places for a flower and sunset trip to Crete's south coast on Sunday 20th, or maybe Tuesday, 22nd or Wednesday, 23rd. Bargain price of £50 per person. This is a bring your own refreshments trip, but will take us to some fabulous locations, including the view point at Prina and the deserted village of Pano Simi, finishing the day with a drink at the beach side taverna at Tertsa to watch the stunning sunset.
