🇬🇷 The Sarakina gorge is located at the southeast Crete, 17 km from Ierapetra, near the small village of Mithi. It is not long but according to the visitors it is the easiest and nicest.
According to the myth, the giant Sarantapichos, stopped once to drink water from the river Myrtos, and his long beard, slashed the mountain in two, and the gorge was formed.
