We wish you a lovely start in the month of April! Or “Kalo Mina” as we wish in Greece every 1st day in month! 🌼🌸 Soon we will be opening our doors and windows to prepare for a sunny easter time and a fantastic summer holiday! We keep decorating… building or adding parts that will make your stay in our studios more comfortable! We have just finished with the stairs that will take you down to our orange orchard. (The oranges of this area are very famous for their juice and aroma!) 🍊🍊

Άνθισε η Αμυγδαλιά μας. 🌸🌸
Στέκει καμαρωτή στην κορυφή του περιβολιού με τις πορτοκαλιές και συναγωνίζεται την ομορφιά αλλά όχι και την ευωδιά τους. Παραδίπλα οι παπαρούνες, αν και χαμηλά, δεν υστερούν σε ομορφιά και χάρη 🌸🌸

🍊 The village Fodele known for its delicious oranges with its beautiful square surrounded of century-old trees and decorated with the busts of the painter Domenikos Theotokopoulos. You can relax in one of the cafeterias and taste delicious Cretan food in one of tavernas.
Nature lovers, can follow a beautiful route through the greenery and next to the river. The village has a few super market, a bakery and other groceries.
🔔The The Monastery of Agios Panteleimonos is located 3km south of Fodele, in a verdant area of ​​orange groves and olive groves. The monastery was built with fortress architecture to repel enemy attacks.
Today, part of the fortified enclosure and the beautiful entrance of the monastery with an arched doorway bearing a built-in arch key with the date 1677 are preserved. Unfortunately, a large part of the buildings that were arranged around the catholicon were demolished in 1972. The catholicon rises in the middle of a small courtyard, in the eastern part of which partially ruined two-story buildings are preserved with the abbot at the northernmost point. Next to the monastery is a water fountain, a vaulted rectangular building from 1866 with relief plant decoration and two lions.
🎨 A museum with an exhibition of the copies of the work of Domenicos Theotokopoulos was found in 1998, in Fodele, the birthplace of the great painter.
The El Greco Museum is in the house that is said to be the place where the painter was born. Apart from the copies of the works of Theotokopoulos, you can see photographs from the visit of professors of the Valladolid University of Spain, on the 27th of July 1934, that wanted to honor the great painter, Domenicos Theotokopoulos, in his birthplace.
There are also photographs and information about the unveiling ceremony of the bust of Domenikos Theotokopoulos, in Fodele, in 1964.
You will also see information about the descendants of Theotokopoulos, a representation of his atelier and 24 slides with his paintings.
