Located 27km east of Ierapetra and 62km southeast of Agios Nikolaos, and quite close , almost 4km, from Makrigialos village. It's a long and picturesqe beach with coarse light sand and crystal clear water...
On the west of the beach there is a small place with tamarisk trees, a tavern and a few umbrellas that create . At this point stops the road that starts right at the eastern exit of Makrigialos. Here, is the most “crowded” part of Diaskari. If you prefere seclusion, then walk eastwards and you will surely find a place to be alone...

Do you really think that summer is so far away.. ?? Well.. we don't think so... Especially here in the Southern Part of Crete! When you come to our area do not forget you visit Agia Fotia Beach! This Beautiful Bay is located only 12 km east of Ierapetra town. The settlement takes its name after the local Church of Agia Fotini or Agia Fotia. The stream is hidden in beautiful plane trees, while the bay is surrounded by conglomerate cliffs that create a magic scenery.
The beach is very famous and popular to the residents of Ierapetra. It has coarse grayish sand and crystal clear calm water. It's well organized and there are, beach bars & taverns around. You can easily relax & find shade under the tamarisk trees of the beach...

Gorge of Kritsa is located in an area of special natural beauty. It starts from the northeastern side of the settlement of the same name and ends, after about 12km, in the village of Tapes...
Along the gorge you can find intense alternations of images, as from areas overgrown with plane trees and oleanders, it is located in narrow passages whose width does not exceed 1.5 meters...
The gorge is considered easily accessible, especially during the spring and summer months...

The fortress of Ierapetra was built by the Venetians in the 13th century in order to protect the city and its port. According to tradition, the castle was built in 1212 by the Genoese pirate Enrico Pescatore who immediately after, sold it to the Venetians. In 1508 it was destroyed by a huge earthquake. The damage was not fully repaired, perhaps due to its extent. The castle was restored in 1626 by Francesco Morosini.In 1647, new repairs and additions were made by the Ottoman Turks. From that period got the name ‘’Kales’’…
Today ‘’Kales Fortress’’ is one of the most beautiful sights of Ierapetra hiding inside his walls parts of Venetian, Greek & Ottoman history! When you visit our beautiful town apart from the unique beaches, do not forget to make a stroll in the narrow streets of the old town and visit this beautiful 13th century monument right in front of town's port!
