Arkoudilas is a remote and wild place south of Corfu. The area is uninhabited. Corfu's most southern beach, 50km from Corfu Town, Arkoudilas Beach is a large 1km long sandy beach, surrounded by high cliffs, with great view and crystal water. The water is shallow but only a few meters from the shore, it gets deep. A bit difficult to access, makes it ideal for those who want quiet, away from the busy organized beaches.
It's a 30 minute walk, 2.5km from our apartments, or you can go there with a vehicle much faster. If you're arriving by car, the sandy gravel road is very bumpy and narrow, but it is possible to get to the beach. Not ideal though for an ordinary car.
A small stand operates there during the summer months and offers sunbeds with umbrellas for around €3 and cold drinks. Unfortunately no further facilities, so toilets, showers or lifeguards are not provided.
