Kaliviani is an uspoilt Cretan village in Crete, Greece. This settlement is split in tow parts, the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ village.

The village of Kaliviani is a small traditional settlement situated only few kilometers west of Kissamos(Kastelli), on the route to reach the blue Lagoon namely, Balos, which is on the other side of the Gramvoussa peninsula. In the area there are many small coves with small beautiful beaches and very close a beautiful sandy beach, namely, pachia ammos, ideally to spend some time of your holidays i

n Crete. Kaliviani is becoming a popular place for foreigners to buy a second home and it is also a popular place for locals whenever they escape of their jobs to have a dinner or a lunch on two beautiful taverns and cafenion and walk through the traditional village and its narrow beautiful stone streets. Kaliviani is perfectly situated at the starting point to visit the magnificent Balos beach lagoon and in western end of Crete with the astonishing colors of its crystal clear water will fill you sight with all shades of blue and green, Balos is indisputably the most exotic beach on Crete. Over the beach, the sun sinks slowly on the steep side slope of the peninsula of the Gramvousa, creating one of the most spectacular sunsets on the island. All of the travellers who pass from Kaliviani they spend at least a couple of days staying in a traditional hotel in Kaliviani enjoying their holidays in Crete island of Greece.
