Renting a car has become very popular because it is by far the most convenient and economic way for a cruise ship passenger to get to Olympia. The route from Katakolon to Olympia is 38 km (2 turns route), and it takes approximately 25 min. There is free parking at the village of Olympia, and there are not any toll stations or any traffic that could delay you or confuse you. Furthermore, you could
explore more by driving through the small local agricultural, coastal villages (where there has not been much tourism development, so they are still quite authentic) and also visit the Merkouri Estate Winery, a well known domestically and very organized winery which is only 10 min away from Katakolon. Of course we provide all AVIS customers with a map (or satellite navigation system if preferred) and we are more than happy to give you suggestions on which are the most interesting places to visit, making sure that you will get back to your cruise ship being really satisfied by taking full advantage of your day.
