PSERIMOS ISLAND
THE PEARL OF THE DODECANESE

Pserimos or Kapari is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, belonging to the Dodecanese archipelago. It is located in the north of Kos and southeast of Kalymnos. It covers an area of ​​14,615 square kilometers and is 269 meters above sea level. It has a population of 130 and also operates a primary school. There are many olive trees and many low hills on the island. Due to the sparse vegetation on the island, there are many capers on the island. In ancient times, the island was famous for these capers, and the island's alias was derived from this. The inhabitants of Pserimos are engaged in fishing, animal husbandry and tourism. There are no roads and no cars on the island.
