OUR NZ AND GREEK HAPPY PLACES....

New Zealand school summer holidays are finally over and kids back to school! 😅

We spent a few weeks over the Christmas holidays down at our NZ happy place, Hahei Beach, in the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of NZ. Highly recommend it if you ever visit New Zealand!

I grew up having our family summer holidays here and its great our sons now get to do the same. Something pretty special about that. Hahei Beach is magic. You arrive, and it feels like a holiday until the moment you leave. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.

I am also extremely grateful and lucky my wife introduced me to Lefkada, were we found our other happy place, and that the kids get experience the wonderful experiences and things that Lefkada has to offer including amazing beaches, scenery, culture, food and weather! Very blessed!

April and May is a great relaxing time to visit Lefkada, with typically clear blue skies, strong spring sunshine, longer day light hours and day time temperatures starting to get into the mid 20c's+.

The spring flowers are in bloom, the beaches pleasantly uncrowded, and if you are lucky enough to be there over the Greek Easter period (17-21 April - same as the Christian Easter this year!) you can see some of the local Greek orthodox Easter celebrations and parades!

If you visit Lefkada this summer we highly recommend visiting the Fly Me Bar in Exanthia for a sunset cocktail, followed by the adjoining Rachi Restaurant Taverna, with has amazing Greek food and offers the perfect alfresco dining experience with dramatic 180-degree views of the island and Ionian Sea!
