Plakias is the perfect holiday spot, located on the south coast of Crete 40klm away from Rethymnon. It's not too large and so retains the traditional Cretan lifestyle but it's big enough to have a good range of accommodation, tavernas, shops and an interesting nightlife.
The main beach of Plakias is an attractive grey sandy beach that stretches around the bay. This place is well known for its strong winds and attracts many wind surfers.
A walk through the mainland will bring to life scenes from the past and will offer the opportunity to discover forests, picturesque villages, historical monuments and small chapels with significant treasures.
Plakias can therefore offer the visitor all the amenities of a modern holiday resort coupled with the traditions and friendliness of the local people.

The Beach of Preveli, also known as Lake Preveli or Phoenix is certainly the most famous beach in south Crete.
Located on the banks of the Grand River, there is a large colony of Theophrastus palm trees, which give the region a sense of a tropical landscape. The river, forming a small lake, 500m long, before emptying into the sea, has water all year round. You can walk along the river, under the shade of palm trees and other trees, and start ascending the beautiful canyon. You can swim in the cold ponds formed in the gorge.

Bali is a coastal village situated 37klm east of Rethymno. It is the second main resort on the north coast of the prefecture after the town of Rethymno. Very picturesque with wonderful bays and part of it built on the ancient site of Astali, Bali combines the beauty of a small place with all the facilities of a tourist resort.
There are several beaches and a small port with a waterside cluster of cafes and tavernas. Bali is a combination of sea, mountain, pretty white houses and lots of flowers around the hillsides.
From Bali you have the chance to visit the Melidoni cave and the traditional village of Margarites with the old pottery workshops. The Monastery of Saint John is also worth visiting.

We are looking forward to helping out! About Chrissi island: Get a car from us, drive to the south coast of Ierapetra and get the ferry across to the breath-taking island of Chrissi: The uninhabited island of Chrissi lies in the Libyan sea, 14klm away from Ierapetra, a small town on the south coast of Crete. It took its name "golden" from the colour of the exotic beaches, which are covered by millions of colourful seashells.
The shallow crystal clear waters, the rear cedar forest on the sand hills and the sandy beaches make Chrissi the last paradise in the Mediterranean. The island has already been declared a National Park.
Chrissi was famous in the ancient times for the production and export of laver which was used in making royal clothes. The island of Chrissi was deserted when the last inhabitants were eliminated by the pirates who left behind the remains of the settlement, a silent witness of a barbaric era of the island's history.
