So we took the risk, a risk that felt so natural as living itself.Live-Bio is a lifestyle concept, an approach to living life the way our bios (=life in ancient Greek) is meant to be. Because life is about being creative, active, close to nature, with healthy local food and art. Think about it: we use up a lot of time to buy money; but the only thing money cannot buy is time.Do you agree?

You’ve seen these guys jumping here before (including Flobi the flying 🐕 😂)! Maya and Dimitri are from Athens 🇬🇷 and love popping in to every now and then even just for a weekend. We squeezed in some ⛵️ and a lovely dinner at Apagio this time round. Let’s see what we do on their next visit 😃

Great news! You can now do in 🤿 🐠🐡! A professional and highly experienced diving instructor, George Anagnostopoulos, has established a diving adventures company and school called . There are a number of diving options from beginners (minimum age is 10 years) to super advanced divers. You can explore the sea around Poros and Modi islands, or if you are looking for more adventurous sites, George can take you further, for example near Hydra or Methana (of course at an additional cost). And for the REALLY experienced and extreme divers there is a unique dive to see the World War II airplane wreck which lies at the depth of 40m. That is a crazy experience you will be telling your friends about for months (or years! 😉) to come!

And if you are keen to do a diving license that’s also possible. It’s an Andi license, it takes about 7-10 days (3h a day) and you need to be at least 18 years old.

We met Em (from Georgia 🇺🇸) when she came the previous year with the Project Resound team to work on a sustainable tourism project for our area. This time she visited with her husband Clifton as she wanted to share with him all the beautiful places and cool things she discovered on her first trip. Erin and Ewen are from Scotland 🏴 (fellow alumni of the University of Glasgow 😌). They enjoyed Live Bio and Galatopia in September (which is still summer time although with less heat and crowds 😊). Apart from plenty beach time and exploring our neighbourhood on 🦶🏻, we had a great trip to Nafplio 🏰 and the Ancient Theatre of Epidavros 🎭. Till the next time! 🤗

Aliki beach, just a short walk away from Live Bio (15-20min). Away from the road and busy mostly with the locals in summer. Great spot for swimming and relaxing when staying with us 😌🏖️

Probably no need to introduce Maria 🇸🇪🇬🇷, she has been a regular visitor for a number of years now. In fact she often says that her summer is not complete without a visit to Live Bio and Galatopia 🙃 Whenever she comes there is always some ⛵️, 🍷, 🌊🏊♀️ and visits to her favourite Apagio taverna. Camilla (who is Italian 🇮🇹) and Callum study in Amsterdam 🇳🇱 and chose Live Bio for their summer break. They rented the cutest electric car 🚗 in Galatas and explored all around in it 😃 Perfect way to travel! 😊️ They even got a special souvenir which was hand made by Eleni at - a traditional colourful Greek carpet 😀👌We hope it brings back good memories and that you make another visit to sometime soon!

Xavier 🇫🇷 and Kerstin 🇩🇪 heard about Live Bio from their friends (Maja and Jonathan) who had stayed with us a few times already 😊 They were keen explorers of the local area visiting interesting sites and beautiful places, but chilling on their Live Bio balcony while sipping on a local🍷 was one of their favourite activities ☺️ Xavier, Kerstin, we look forward to having you with us again!

2nd crossing organised by Elias from Volcanotrails. We started our 9.5km route from the Methana town and crossed all the way through the mountain to the village of Ano Mouska (facing north). Absolutely beautiful day with THESE views, fresh air, great company and lovely gathering with food and music at the end. THANK YOU Elias and Team for making it possible! 🙏⛰️💚💙

Eleni, Kostis and their kids Lydia and Christos come to us on a road trip all the way from Thessaloniki 🇬🇷. They told us that for them Live Bio was a destination on its own 💙 They enjoyed exploring including a sail ⛵️ with captain Periklis and just loved the views from their balcony 🌅 The kids also had fun time playing 🏓 and games in our common room. We hope to see them again one day! 🤗

Amelie 🇫🇷 and Konrad 🇵🇱 seem to love Live Bio and Galatopia. This was their second visit and let’s just say it was not the last 😃 They enjoy escaping their busy lives in always buzzing London 🇬🇧 and exchanging it for two weeks of calmness, relaxation, swimming, snorkelling, sailing, eating yummy Greek food and fun get togethers with wine and good company 😌 Spoiler alert: this year will be their 4th time at Live Bio and we honestly CAN’T wait to have them here! 😍

- first swim of the year 🌊
- for Periklis it was the first time visit to the gorgeous, sandy beach opposite Hydra 🏖️
- cycle and visit to the Didima gorge and caves 🚵🏻♂️ 🐑
- visiting tiny churches made in a rock 💒
- some more cycling in Ermioni area 🚴♀️🌊
- seafood dinner right on the sea 🦐

You’ve met this wonderful family from Kyiv 🇺🇦 before. Olesia, her parents Svetlana and Nikolai and her kids Max and Kristina spent 6 months living in Galatopia. They were forced to leave the country after the war broke out. Olesia’s husband and dad of Max and Kristina, Pasha, had to stay behind in case he was called to the frontline to fight. Olesia and her family made Galatopia their home for that time and many good hearted locals looked after them as much as they could. But being apart and living in such uncertainty was not an option any longer and so they went back to Kyiv. A year and a half later the war is still very much on. Olesia and her family take each day as it comes and try not to think too much about the situation (although it is extremely hard…). We are thinking of you and hoping soon enough you will be able to come back and visit Galatopia, as tourists 🤗

It was super nice to meet Marwa and Yohan 🇧🇪 🇲🇦🇫🇷 They visited us from Belgium where they live and work. They chose Live Bio because, as they said, they wanted to “properly rest and relax”. And that’s what they did during their 10 day stay 😎 Everyday was a good 🏖️ day and so they explored the nicest beaches in our area. One fun memory is Marwa, Yohan, our other guests Amelie and Konrad, and Periklis gazing at the ✨💫 on our deck. It was a night of shooting stars which is quite a spectacle to witness here 😍

Agnieszka and her daughter Milenką 🇵🇱 really enjoyed their stay, especially the views from their balcony (this is where you could find them most of the time 😉). They also enjoyed exploring around and savouring local Greek cuisine, especially at Apagio and Odyssey 😃 They said they would love to come back one day! 🥰

Summer is coming… ⛵️🌊🌞👙🍉🍺
Since last year there is another fun activity on #Poros - seeing the world underwater with a Nemo submarine 🐟🐠🐡🪼🐙 (technically it does not submerge, but it has these large windows at its bottom). Kids love it! These are some snap shots from a trip we did with Magdalena’s niece and nephew. If coming to #Galatopia with kids, go try it 😃

Another stunning hike on #Methana this past Sunday. Thank you, thank you, thank youuuu @elia.srizo.s from @volcanotrails for guiding us and sharing your incredible knowledge about this ancient peninsula! People were living here 4000-5000 years ago and we could see their traces (like ruined of houses and ancient wine presses). Beautiful day with nature and history 🥰💚💙 And those views…

Aahh the beautiful Nafplio 💙 Definitely worth a visit while you are staying with us. Ask these guys 😉 @izzy2726 @ameliemisako @konrad_pioro Did you know it was the first capital of modern Greece? (Actually technically it was the second as the island of Aigina took the first spot, even if only for 2 weeks 😌). The Palamydi fortress is worth a visit (look at these views!). You can get there by climbing 999 steps 😰 Or just drive your car to the top if you’re not feeling too energetic 😄 And don’t miss the old town walk (while eating famous Nafplio 🍦).

From the series of #hiking #Galatopia: this past weekend we decided to do some more exploration of beautiful #Methana. We hiked from Kameni Chora (from our friend’s Theodoris restaurant called Wine Therapy) all the way to the little church of Krasopanagia which literally means Virgin Mary of the Wine (interesting coincidence 😉). There is an interesting story behind this name. Apparently about 150 years ago two local men were carrying wine on a small traditional boat when the strong winds almost caused them to sink. They prayed to Virgin Mary to save them and promised that if she did, they would build her a church which instead of water would use 🍷 mixed with concrete. And so they did ⛪️ You should know that the trail is very tough and definitely not for those who have a fear of heights ⛰️ But it is truly rewarding 🥰 The views are spectacular, nature captivating and the calmness of the place hard to compare. From the series of #hiking #Galatopia: this past weekend we decided to do some more exploration of beautiful #Methana. New kitty at Live Bio 😻
Meet Hatulka 🐱 She is a new addition to our little family. She is the 3rd kitty member together with her auntie Asproula 🐈 (who is not exactly ecstatic to have her around 🤨 although is slowly getting used to her company 😌) and cousin Harry 🐈⬛ (who doesn’t seem to mind her too much fortunately 😌). P.S. Hatulka is a mix of a Hebrew and Greek name (hatula in Hebrew means girl cat, similar to gatoula in Greek) with a Polish twist to make it sound cute 😻We chose it together with our Israeli guests and friends Bar and Eden with whom we found her.
